S04.E21: Panty Gate

I'm so glad Fawn is gone. Her storyline with Schmidt was such a drag.

I liked Winston and his waffle, Winston asking if anyone had seen his white friends and this exchange:

"Who do you see yourself next to?"

".....Winston, mostly."

"Yeah, me too."

You would both be so lucky.

I liked Coach's breakdown in sex ed. predictable, but i still laughed.

Also loved Jess counting backwards, all-knowing, waiting for May to turn around and knock again.

I'm glad Fawn is gone - i didn't mind her, mainly because she owned her selfishness. But i want CeCe and Schmidt together again.

"Nick! A dress shirt on a Monday??"

Geez, I hope the lack of posts isn't a reflection on the show's ratings.

It's already been renewed for a fifth season so nothing to worry about. Although I thought this was a fairly weak episode, I'm wondering if they have decided to jettison Coach once and for all. The whole dynamic of the show has been off since they brought Damon Wayans Jr. back last season. It worked better with four leads (or, five if you count CeCe). Coach was great in the pilot episode but once they established Winston (which really took them forever to do) it was evident we didn't need Coach anymore. He was always sort of a fifth wheel and I'd rather they invest more material in Winston.

I'm not sure I bought Schmidt's sudden maturity and epiphany about Fawn either. I know he had a conversation about this with CeCe in the last episode so it didn't exactly come out of nowhere but he seemed to snap into self awareness in a rather sudden and uncharacteristic way.

I thought it was hilarious when CeCe was telling Jess she was going to climb Mt. Shasta and the shot cut away for a second and when it cut back to her she was on top of the kitchen counter.

Schmidt and Fawn's breakup scene was the first time I liked her.  Maybe because they were breaking up.

Maybe because she showed real human-type emotion in the eyes, instead of just being straight politician-joke-as-personality. I thought the actress brought a lot to that scene when she was looking at Schmidt vs when she still played her usual personality to the (in show) cameras. It was really well done.

It seem like it was his decision to leave not the show. Damon Wayans Jr. has been getting multiple offers to do pilots for the last 2 years.

I liked the convo between Nick and Jess at the end because it gave me some hope in my little "shipper" heart. They both were talking about each other, and then said Winston to cover what they were feeling.

Or was I imagining that? LOL

I'm still aboard the Nick/Jess train, can't help it.
