Story Time!

Story Time! Here is the scenario: You find yourself alone in a zombie (or whatever) apocalypse. One day you find a map that shows the location of several (5-6) independent camps. Each camp is lead by a different member of Team Machine.  The camps are equidistant from your location.  Whose camp would you choose and why?

1. Shaw - if there's an ultimate survivor, it's Shaw. Also she will definitely keep order in the camp!

2 (tie). Root - though if The Machine is still a) online and b) helpful, she might vault to #1. But you just know she plans for everything, including the zombie apocalypse. Also she'd be less likely than Shaw or Reese to plunge into a horde of zombies if she could at all avoid it (unless one of them was Martine!).

Reese - he'd definitely be the handiest in close-quarters combat and I would appreciate his protective tendencies, but I think I'd be equally afraid his hero tendencies would endanger the group.

4. Fusco - his skill set just isn't suited for a zombie apocalypse. Though I also wouldn't be surprised if, like, 500 years later his camp was looked back on as the cradle of the new civilization and the one that preserved, like, calculus, you know?

5. Finch - he would refuse to kill any zombies and get ME killed trying to protect him!

1. Shaw, for her fighting and strategic skills and generally level head.  Also, where Shaw is, surely Bear goes, and a dog like Bear is invaluable for a zombie apocalypse.

2. If Finch survived long enough to lead a camp, I'm going to assume he actually has some fighters with him.  He'd be a strong strategist, and since zombies are the undead rather than human, I'll also assume that he wouldn't have qualms about killing them.

3. Reese has a similar skill set to Shaw, but not, imo, as strong.  His brooding might also drive me crazy :).

4. Root.  Without The Machine - and are we assuming no advanced computer technology at all? - I'm not sure how well she'd do.  And although her hotness would make her camp attractive to me on that shallow basis, (i) I'm not sure she has the best temperament to lead during a long-haul apocalypse; (ii) she might prioritize reuniting with Shaw over saving me/the rest of her camp followers!

5. Fusco.  Don't see him as a leader, honestly, although he'd no doubt contribute lots of good ideas (and one liners).

I'd have to go with Shaw. On top of being well protected, hers would almost certainly have the best food. Besides, Root would probably show up sooner or later with, like, a truckload of shotguns and ammo and protein bars.

Fusco would be my second choice. His camp would probably be a bit more lax about security, but Fusco's ability to somehow make it work should never be underestimated.

Well, nothing kills that cat!

Hee, I don't know, though. Shaw might commandeer a bike and ride across half of zombie-infested New York/New Jersey to get to Root because she's worried about...the mission. ;)

When this question first popped into my head months ago (because, yes, I do expend a fair bit of mental energy dreaming up apocalypse scenarios), my first answer was, "It probably should be Reese, yeah?"  Then I realised that Reese would be a lot like Rick Grimes, and ain't nobody got time for Farmer John.  However, as tessaray pointed out, Shaw has an M.D. so there really is no point going to Reese's camp first because I might only get one shot and I shouldn't lose my once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hook up with Shaw's group. The End.
