formerlyfreedom April 10, 2015 Share April 10, 2015 Backstrom and the S.C.U. are plunged into the zany, provocative world of a performance art festival when one of the participating artists is found dead. Their investigation turns up a slew of potential killers, all of whom are creative types involved in the festival. In the process of solving the murder, Backstrom reveals a surprising appreciation for visual artwork, and a moment of passion between him and a fiery suspect turns into its own piece of performance art. Actionmage April 17, 2015 Share April 17, 2015 (edited) "Okay; that's enough art for one day. Go home and watch some porn."-- Officer Moto Don't change, Moto, not too much. Everyone's reactions to Backstrom at the installation was great. Gravely and Paquet were a study in tragedy and comedy, respectively. Valentine's juvie sweetie was not my cup of tea, but the heart wants what it wants. The kite was great and I hope Backstrom paints it. I love how Niedermayer is the "translator". Aside from the obvious, this was a fun episode. A new episode for next week! Edited April 17, 2015 by Actionmage 1 Link to comment
ottoDbusdriver April 17, 2015 Share April 17, 2015 (edited) Totally agree, this was a fun episode. Interesting that Backstrom only stopped what he was doing in the art exhibit with Lucy Harms once Moto mentioned that Gravely was watching. Hmmmm. Backstrom really is an artist at heart despite his disdain for other artist's work. I didn't know what Backstrom was initially going for when he stepped on the corpse, but when all the pee came out it totally made sense. Loved it when Valentine stepped on Backstrom's sandwich after cutting the deal with him to try and save Mos (his friend from juvie). The kite was perfect for Valentine. So many great lines, I'm going to have to watch it again. Edited April 17, 2015 by ottoDbusdriver 2 Link to comment
DrLar April 17, 2015 Share April 17, 2015 Yeah maybe Backstrom feels something for Gravely? or is it more like father-daughter love? Hahaha the kite! I guess they couldn't censor that and call it a "rocket" Again I thought Piquet and Niedermayer were a couple since episode 3, now they barely look at each other like that relationship is going backwards Link to comment
Check Sanity April 17, 2015 Share April 17, 2015 Again I thought Piquet and Niedermayer were a couple since episode 3, now they barely look at each other like that relationship is going backwards The episodes are being aired out of order. Although this one did allude to their relationship at least in the scene when Niedermayer is talking about the female artist being "utterly mesmorizing. How can you not watch her?" When Backstrom calls for Piquet, Niedermayer asks that what he said not be repeated. 1 Link to comment
Actionmage April 17, 2015 Share April 17, 2015 Yeah maybe Backstrom feels something for Gravely? or is it more like father-daughter love? I don't think that Backstrom feels that strongly for Gravely outside of potentially wanting to keep what respect he has with her. In production order, "Bogeyman" and "Love Is a Rose and You Better Not Pick It" were just before this one. He has been vulnerable to the squad, but Backstrom will "protect" Gravely, his by-the-book co-worker, by sending her off. If Gravely was watching, she could not lie to cover his ass ( as it were). Her concern was when he told Ms. Harms she wasn't a suspect. (I hope someone has a super cut of all of Gravely's reaction shots to Backstrom and his Backstrominess.) Backstrom may have a bit of affection for Gravely, but I wouldn't label it love. At least, not currently. Link to comment
Actionmage April 20, 2015 Share April 20, 2015 I thought that was how Moto sees Backstrom. :) Link to comment
Oscirus April 20, 2015 Share April 20, 2015 To be fair, Moto also slapped Backstrom in the back to get his attention. Though I do love that Gravely quickly covered his ass as soon as he got back. I'm going to miss this show :( 1 Link to comment
