cooksdelight February 25, 2015 Author Share February 25, 2015 I wanted to eat that rotisserie chicken sooooooo bad! It looked like it was falling off the bone. That said, I do not want to eat it out of a box. I'd go to KFC if that were the case. The guy with the glasses just seemed to me like he didn't want to be there. The other guy had his head in the game and thankfully so or I think Glasses Guy might have turned down Tim's deal. It said at the end that they were still looking for a location. If they are willing to mortgage their homes, I would think they'd be hustling to find a place as soon as possible. Link to comment
seacliffsal February 25, 2015 Share February 25, 2015 I really liked the decor and the food looked delish... I'm glad Joe and Tim went with the two instructors as the other option didn't look as good and she had demonstrated poor business decision making when she doubled her cost but did not increase her profit with a second food truck. I liked that the one guy totally wanted to incorporate everything that Joe and Tim had suggested. The episodes when one of the candidates is all 'I don't care what they want" really bother me as they want business investors but don't want to listen to sound business advice. This time they address the advice and I'm so glad it worked for them. Those craft cocktails looked fabulous. 2 Link to comment
GaT February 28, 2015 Share February 28, 2015 I would have eaten both places food, another episode where I wished they did two restaurants. They should do a viewers choice out of all the people who didn't get picked & give the top pick a chance. 1 Link to comment
buttersister March 16, 2015 Share March 16, 2015 Best entrance. Amazing decor. Outstanding craft cocktails. Delicious food. So "no theater" meant that they "missed it." Everyone eating there seemed pretty happy--as a regular restaurant, they can order more boxes to split eat-in chickens, who cares? We eat at a great place that puts everything in little red baskets. I don't equate their concept with not understanding front of house--did I miss something? Between that, the "no idea what it means to be a restauranteur" and all the old guy comments, Joe and Tim can shove it. Manufactured drama on these kinds of shows has gotten too old for me. 1 Link to comment
Crucial March 20, 2015 Share March 20, 2015 I would have eaten both places food, another episode where I wished they did two restaurants. They should do a viewers choice out of all the people who didn't get picked & give the top pick a chance. I like this idea because there are a few I would have liked to see how they made out. Maybe they will do this next season. I really would have liked to see how the chicken lady would have done. Both teams food looked so good. Link to comment
HunterHunted June 7, 2015 Share June 7, 2015 (edited) I live in Austin and Ms. P's is very good and very well known. It's not Franklin's or East Side Kings, but it's probably one of the top 10 or 20 food trucks in the city. There are a lot in this city so that's saying a lot. As a Pennsylvanian, I understand the concerns about the liquor license. Pennsylvania only grants so many liquor licenses per capita. If they've granted the max per capita, then a business is SOL. There is big business in the buying and selling of liquor licenses. I've heard of them going up to a million. And it's so rare for a business to open and then decide midstream that they want a liquor license. Edited June 7, 2015 by HunterHunted Link to comment
