S10.E09: Fate

I am pretty sure that MGG (and every other regular on this or any other series) appears in, is featured in, or is left out of--exactly as many episodes as his contract stipulates.

 

When these actors and their agents negotiate their contracts, nothing is left to chance, including their part in the opening credits.  No regular cast member just signs up for the season and hopes for the best from TPTB.

I am really late to the discussion, but I just have to add my 2 cents ----

 

The good points to this episode - the unsub was actually a serial killer (well, she had killed more than one person before the BAU was called in) and no torture porn.

 

Last episode, Morgan had to cancel his pre-planned vacation because they have a case, but Rossi can just hop on a plane and leave anytime he wants? 

 

The editing was way off in the racing to the airport scenes.  The daughter is in line to board and Rossi is still driving.  Then Rossi turns on his flashing lights, and gets to the airport gate just as she is about to board the plane. I suppose if you have flashing lights on top of your car, they let you park in the passenger loading and unloading zone, and I guess if you flash a BAU badge, they don't make you buy a ticket or go through security, but he still got there too fast.  Did the person in front of her have some issue that made them take 10 - 20 minutes to board? 

 

Then the person at the boarding desk says that the plane is about to leave and the daughter has to get on now.  And Rossi ends up getting on the flight too!  Did they hold the plane so Rossi could go buy a ticket?  Is the car still parked in the loading zone with it's lights flashing?

I can't remember, did Rossi actually get on the plane or did he just walk her to the entrance of the plane? When I watched, I thought that he was just escorting her and that he said goodbye to her at the boarding place and that he walked away afterward so they could close the plane door. Although, I will say that TSA doesn't care if someone is in law enforcement when it comes to their security. My father was carrying a Springfield Armory M1911 and they confiscated his nail clippers. I saw them stop some MPs who were escorting a cuffed prisoner (and carrying rifles) to run metal detector wands over them. Airport security can be rather asinine, so I don't buy that they would have let Rossi through.

He got on the plane and spent the weekend with his daughter and her family

They just borrowed one of the editors from Amazing Race .That's the Philimination Edit with the two teams racing for the mat for tensions sake even if there is an hour between them.

Right?? Especially considering that in this stupid universe there are approximately 1000 times as many psycho killers as there are in our world. FFS, citizens of the CM world! If I lived where you do my house would be a fortress. Every window would be secured with iron bars. My pets would be armored pit bulls, and I'd have my husband dig a ten-foot-deep moat around our house while I guarded him with a machine gun.

You missed the compulsory crocodile. Can't have a moat without some dangerous animals patrolling it. :P
