Fabulous?  is right.  All of the women acted awful this episode.

I love how Carrie just totally blows a photo shoot by going out the night before, trying to stay up all night/morning and looks just awful the next day.  WTG Girl!  I do wonder if it was originally planned to make the article/photo-shoot ugly, or if Carrie's showing up like that prompted the change.  And smoking during the shoot, really?  Course, then she's smoking while power walking.  I mean again, really?  She sure didn't quit long.

Seriously, the woman dating a deaf guy and doesn't understand sign language?  You'd think he'd figure that out.

I didn't understand why Miranda couldn't educate the guy about how to give her an orgasm, at least when she started seeing him again.  Show him where his hands have to go during foreplay, its not that hard, sheesh.

I wouldn't have thought Samantha needed to hear much from any guy to get her in bed.  But good start to throwing the drink in the man's face.

Nope, Bradley tells a story later that SJP sent word through a third party about how he was to kiss her! It starts with Alex Kingston talking about a kissing incident with a costar. Watch the whole episode, it's hilarious.

Carrie parties too hard and too late the night before a photo shoot for a magazine cover and ends up looking like total shit in the photo they use, with the headline Single and Fabulous...?   Also, from Wikipedia's summary:

Miranda fakes orgasms with her current boyfriend. Charlotte starts dating her handyman. Samantha dates a club owner, who calls them a "we" right away.

I'm still behind (mid-Season 1), but this episode is one of the most memorable.

One thing I learned about photographers some time ago, which this episode seemed to get right, is that they find facial lines fascinating. A number of years ago, I had dinner with a couple in which the husband was a talented amateur photographer and the wife was above-average in looks. He was so happy to show me a photo he'd taken of her that revealed every single line on her face and made her look like an old crone at the age of 41. It was hideous! She didn't really look like that, and she found the photo embarrassing. And yet her husband, who adored her btw, thought it was a wonderful picture of her.

So a photographer who did NOT love Carrie, getting her in a wrecked condition like this? Yeah, he probably thought this was a fantastic shot, full of "character."

Air-brushing exists for a reason.
