This was not a particularly enjoyable episode; those guest characters were pretty annoying. This was the pilot for the spinoff that didn’t get picked up, right? I assume those guest characters would be the supporting cast in the spinoff and I’m not sure I would want to watch it with those yahoos

I was under the impression that this was the final season of "The Neighborhood", so I was kinda disappointed with this episode until they did a promo for "the final season".  I didn't particularly enjoy this episode, but it was typical for a pilot for a spin-off. Glad we'll get another season, and I'm glad that Courtney and Marty will have at least a chance at a future!

Spin off backdoor episodes are always very bad and not fun, I can remember the one from the Goldbergs and Married with children, so I knew what we were in for. 

I guess they were going to completely write Marty and Malcolm off the show but now that the spin-off was canceled that is not going to happen.

They didn't really explain why Marty would be joining Malcom in the house, maybe it would be closer to the new "Fuse Box" they are planning on opening.

On the plus side, I liked how they immediately started rebuilding the 'Neighborhood' experience - how people hang out in their front yards and converse with other people who are pretty different from them. It's a nice idea!

And I thought Marty's mention of how long it would take to drive to the new location was going to set up his move as well.

And good to see Justin Long.

But overall I was more interested in the Dwight’s farm spinoff on ‘The Office!’

The Neighborhood Spinoff Is Dead — But Malcolm’s Big Move Will Stick in Season 8, Says Cedric the Entertainer

The scripts for Malcolm and Marty Spin-off, the characters, and the sets are available and will be incorporated into the "final" Season 8 of The Neighborhood.  The new "Fuse Box" is in Venice, which is why Marty would have been hanging out at Malcolm's new home.

I did not like Justin Long's character at all. He was like 100 Dave's put together. I hope he is not on next season.

The actor playing Calvin said in the end of the season interview that they have plans for Justin Long's character next season, he will be included.
