S07.E19: Partner

Recommended Posts

Good episode, nice twists and intensity. Interesting how the kidnapping plot turned into a bomb plot. I did think it was odd that the kidnapped girl’s dad wasn’t being watched at all times, how did he get to the warehouse and why weren’t agents with him? That seemed weird, everything else flowed well.

Isobel was great in this episode, I liked how she got through to the bomber and how she ran everything. No Jubal, I missed his interactions with the command room agents, but Isobel shined in this episode. Nice role for all 4 field agents, I like Scola’s new partner, and Kelly and Elise had good stuff as well.

I wonder if Maggie is considering leaving, given that she seemed rather burned out with dealing with dangerous stuff, I wonder if any more will come of that? I doubt she goes anywhere but it’s the first time she’s seemed fed up.

Nice to see the ME, Neil, again, and the bomb techs were good as well in their minor role. I like how this show is a team effort to solve cases with each character playing a good role. Good episode.

Seemed to me like a set up for Maggie and OA realizing they are the OTP.
No?

Maggie/OA ran the bomb down into the cleared-out vault then ran back out to safety, leaving this door wide open!

Was it supposed to be a joke?
Like: Ha ha, dummy viewers, bet you missed OA getting the anthrax out of the bomb.
I dunno. Was this just to be sure we’d forget:

I too was wondering about the dad.  It almost made me think he was in on it or they forced him to be involved.  That was a loose end.  The first part of the episode reminded me of Law and Order, where they go through many false leads.  I guess FBI does that too, but it seems more a part of the L&O playbook.

Partner” is the perfect title for this episode for two main reasons:

(1) A person’s true character is revealed in times of crisis. It’s another reason to love Elise. She refuses to leave Isobel alone. 💙

(2) The heartwarming Zibell moment.

Quote

OA: “But when you are standing next to the person you can’t imagine losing the most… I would make that sacrifice any day.”

Good episode, kept me engaged. But why did both OA and Maggie run the bomb to the vault? Was that partly to reflect the "Partner" title? Was it in case one of them, say, fell, so the other could get the bomb to the vault? Or did they need to work together to get the anthrax canister out? Just didn't seem to make sense to be risking two top agents instead of one. I recall a few eps where just one agent ran off to get rid of a bomb (including OA, driving it away, then leaping out of the car).
