S03.E02: Badge #41870

When Nikki suddenly goes missing, MPU bands together and discovers that Raina, a criminal who Nikki put behind bars, has been paroled and is after Nikki with a vengeance. MPU issues an alert on their fearless leader and discovers that Raina was hired by Irish mob boss Charlie McGannon (guest star Ian Tracey), who has kidnapped Nikki in order to prevent her from exposing his corruption.

So they killed Nikki off. My guess last week episode was shot for season 2 but they held on to it.

Dania Ramirez must of been negotiating a new contract to return for S3 and if she didn't they had that S2 ep to use for the opening of S3 to set up her death just in case Dania didn't sign a new deal.

Now it makes since Megalyn Echikunwoke joing the cast bc she's replacing Nikki.

Wow, I did not expect them to kill Nikki off - I didn't believe it was actually her until the last scene.

The scene of them finding her was heartbreaking and even more so knowing she was actually dead.

Instead of killing Nikki off, they should have killed off the entire show.

Is Dania Ramirez even in this episode? It seems like they’re using a body double for every scene.

Nikki’s death doesn’t make sense. This storyline in 3x02 and the storyline from S03 premiere feel disjointed now. 

Could she be faking her death and heading to WITSEC? The things she left behind are oddly very organized — the evidence in her safety deposit box, the final letter to her team etc. 🤔

Does Chief Inspector Bill Houston know more than he’s letting on? Him being the first person to alert the team about Nikki’s disappearance is so sus. 👀

That's an interesting idea. WE didn't see the body. Usually on TV that means it's a fake out and not a real death.

However, they all acted like THEY saw the body-- and it was the most convincing acting I've ever seen out of Scott Caan, so I assumed it was actually that they killed her off.

What a stupid decision to kill off the pivotal character of the show. I may not watch anymore.  I kept thinking either it wasn’t her or it was a fake.  Now if I do watch I’m going to expect them to bring her back every week once that mob boss is in prison.

ETA: IMO, there may have been internal strife regarding contracts, roles, scripts, or co-stars.

”Creative swing” is really BS, isn’t it.

I hope the hearsay about TPTB wanting to focus on Jason/Mike dynamic moving forward is not entirely true. Jason is annoying AF. 😣

They have toned down both Kemi and Helen, thank god. Next…
