SeanBug March 2 Share March 2 I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this show. I didn't laugh that much but I did enjoy it. Chet Hanks was the big surprise. He's a pretty good actor. Of course a lot of his story line is based on his own life's missteps. Except for the parents. Unless Tom and Rita have some really dark secrets. I knew Isla and the coach would end up hooking up. Not sure how Theroux's character can just proclaim he's back. Wouldn't he need the Board to approve him taking over? After his drug problems, and Isla taking the team to the NBA Championship or was that just the Western Division, didn't she prove herself to be capable. I swear that scene where Isla is trading players between two teams was taken straight out of Moneyball. Hope it gets renewed. It's a relaxing show and an easy binge watch. 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152103-s01e10-game-seven/#findComment-8595385
luna1122again March 3 Share March 3 I really liked this and had no real expectation to. Yeah, it's kind of Ted Lasso-lite, but that's not a bad aspiration. I have a real affection for the cast, especially Drew Tarver and Scott McCarthur, who I knew best from The Other Two and The Mick. I was kind of shocked by how good Chet Hanks was. Sure, he's kind of playing himself, but still. I love Max Greenfield, he's so charming (when he's not stuck on a terrible show like The Neighborhood) and I was so happy he finally walked away, at least temporarily, from Isla. And then for her to beg him to come back but then mack on the hot coach in the next scene...yeah, stay away Schmidt. The cameos and recurring roles are also fun. Justin Theroux plays a hot douchebag almost better than anyone, it's always fun to see Jon Glaser, who will always be Laird and/or Jeremy Jamm to me, and Macaulay Culkin screaming for Billie Eilish made me laugh. I binged the whole show in one afternoon, and really enjoyed it. I'll hope for a second season. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152103-s01e10-game-seven/#findComment-8596728
Marley March 3 Share March 3 I liked the show but I don't like Chet Hanks in this. I know it shouldn't matter but acting like he's a basketball player is a joke. His body type is too distracting to me. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152103-s01e10-game-seven/#findComment-8596843
twoods March 4 Share March 4 Surprised the quality of this show maintained through all 10 episodes. It was a fun, easy binge that didn’t take itself too seriously, yet had some heartfelt moments that snuck up on you. I always sensed the chemistry between the coach and Isla, but was surprised they shoehorned a kiss at the end when she was mourning her breakup a few hours ago. Maybe they knew a second season was coming so it was a cliffhanger of sorts, along with the druggie brother returning. Interesting to see if Isla finds out next season that he was behind all the story leaks. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152103-s01e10-game-seven/#findComment-8597442
sjankis630 March 7 Share March 7 I was surprised at Chet being so funny but I don't think I have ever seen him in anything only heard about his past transgressions so I may have been biased against him. I was pleasantly surprised to see Nicole Sullivan playing his mom and I liked her brief arc. I am assuming that they are setting up for a season 2. I am about 65% sure I could watch a second season but the thing about this show is that it is so formulaic that it kind of gets forgettable a couple of days after you watch it. I am not sure if I will have much motivation to seek out a season 2. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152103-s01e10-game-seven/#findComment-8600427
tennisgurl March 13 Share March 13 I did not have a ton of expectation for this show but it has a lot of actors that I like in it so I decided to give a shot, and I was pleasantly surprised. Its a very fun, easy binge watch that does a good job of not getting too sappy while also having some nice heartfelt moments and character development. I was thrilled to see the "another season is coming" at the end of this episode, I am looking forward to the next season and what it will mean to have Cam back. I am guessing everything finds out pretty quickly that Cam was the leak, I don't think that taking back control will be as easy as he thinks it will be. When he was in charge the team was having a pretty crappy run while Isla took them to the Championship and they very nearly won, plus he's very freshly out of rehab. Did he restock his drug drawer already? 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152103-s01e10-game-seven/#findComment-8606514
