AntFTW Wednesday at 01:03 AM Share Wednesday at 01:03 AM Quote TJ puts a rivals spin on his favorite challenge of the season: trivia; tempers flare between two rival pairs when one challenger is caught supporting a strategy to throw in their real life best friend into the Jungle for possible elimination. Lantern7 Thursday at 06:21 AM Share Thursday at 06:21 AM Same as it ever was, with Adam & Steve winning in the Jungle for an unprecedented fourth straight time. This time, thanks to Frank and Sam winning, Devin & Leroy wind up going home. Normally, the Challenge Gods wait until near the climax to pants Leroy. When was the last time he went out in five episodes or less? Dario and Devin go at it. Too bad Devin's gone, seeing how Dario is an asshole. On the down side, if Turbo winds up snapping, he won't get a chance to take Devin's throat. That's a shame. Nice mission. Very Newlywed Game. The biggest downside to Frank & Sam winning is that there's going to be a shitload of "takes" about Sam winning a non-athletic game. She might not be built for this game, but she seems like a good person. I can't believe Adam reproduced. I wonder if his daughters seen their dad in action. Given how most of his seasons aren't streaming, I'd say they have not. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152074-s05e05-tri-rival-pursuit/#findComment-8592768
aghst Thursday at 03:03 PM Share Thursday at 03:03 PM How did they know each other’s astrological signs? As it turned out the additions didn’t handicap teams though Frank and Sam did get most questions right. They should have increased the volume of the shake more. The elimination favored agility and balance, which it rarely does. Did Devin and Leroy get even one triangle completed? What’s his name was right, Frank was going to make a big move because he might not get another chance. I don’t remember Adam’s seasons at all. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152074-s05e05-tri-rival-pursuit/#findComment-8592933
LaurelleJ Thursday at 06:05 PM Share Thursday at 06:05 PM Well this episode plum pissed me off. Devin and Leroy were my number 1 team. At this point I can only root for Adam and Steve to just take it all the way, or Nany and Turbo. Still love Amber but hate Fessy so can't root for them. I wish the strategy were get two non-star holders in to duke it out and then steal a star, vs. pushing two star holders in. At this point though, even if they steal Adam and Steve's star, they will likely get thrown in and steal it back. 4 wins in a row, getting voted in is a death sentence but at the same time, if you eventually want your star, you DON'T want Adam and Steve to be the nominee. Dario is kind of a snake. I wonder if his name was going around and that's why he switched the heat to Devin and Leroy. I think Frank would have come up with that anyway, so there was likely no need for him to out himself like that. It's a dumb move, because now that D&L are out, he is the new "untrustworthy" target. Frank sucks too, too bad for Sam but hope they get eliminated somewhat soon. Devin is the type of villain I like, Frank is the type I don't, so the game/show just got a lot less interesting. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152074-s05e05-tri-rival-pursuit/#findComment-8593051

ImpinAintEasy Thursday at 10:57 PM Share Thursday at 10:57 PM Can't stand Devin since he won. He used to display some self depreciation and awareness. Now he's just arrogant and loud. Nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. Dollar Store Wes, and that's being generous. Leroy is never going to win. He simply has too many weaknesses, and his strengths aren't as good as they used to be. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152074-s05e05-tri-rival-pursuit/#findComment-8593272

In the preview for next episode TJ says that the daily is a star daily, whatever that means. 2 hours ago, AntFTW said: Does Dario and Ashley have a star? Yep the current star holders are Adam and Steve, Dario and Ashley, and Nana and Turbo. I really thought they were going to let Devin and Leroy gift their star to someone. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152074-s05e05-tri-rival-pursuit/#findComment-8593355

I skipped that part. 😂 Ok, so it makes sense now why "freeing up a star" means something. I assume this means the winner of the daily gets the star. That's kind of boring. As long as the star-holders avoid elimination, their stars are safe. For people without stars, the safe route to getting a star is throwing star holders into elimination and then winning a daily. For the people with stars, they just avoid elimination to keep their stars... which is pretty what everyone already does. When two teams without a star go into elimination, did they explain what happens then? or we'll just have to find out when we get there? 8 minutes ago, LaurelleJ said: Yep the current star holders are Adam and Steve, Dario and Ashley, and Nana and Turbo. Leroy's top people all had stars, Nany and Dario, and it had to be one of them. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152074-s05e05-tri-rival-pursuit/#findComment-8593362

For the people with stars, they just avoid elimination to keep their stars... which is pretty what everyone already does. That's my assumption too, we will see. That safe route is problematic for a team that has low chances of winning a daily. I think those weaker teams would do better by orchestrating deals where two non-star holding teams can get put into elimination, and then steal a star holder's star. Veronica/Katie and Melissa/Nicole have less chances of winning a daily, but the two can go head to head and one team wins and steals a star. The other star holders would love to protect Veronica and Katie if they were star holders because that equals an easier final. Non-star holders would leave them alone for the same reason. 18 hours ago, AntFTW said: So Leroy was in a difficult scenario here. Adam and Steve were the likely winners. This would have been a good time to send in another strong non-star holding team who has won dailies, Fessy and Amber, to knock another out of the game and make it easier. Winner gets/keeps a star. Imagine if Fessy/Amber win next daily, get the star, and then throw in Frank and Sam against Adam and Steve, and Frank and Sam lose. I hope that happens. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152074-s05e05-tri-rival-pursuit/#findComment-8594010
