Saw the promos for this.

She’s been living in Spain.  But this is a good niche, now she can do shows based in other European countries, except Italy, since Stanley Tucci already covered Italy and I believe he owns a piece of Searching for Mexico and maybe this new show as well.

Speaking of which, not a word on Heart of Italy, which was announced in 2023.  There were reports of him shooting the show last summer, in Le Marche.  But maybe his movie roles kept him from finishing that series?

I agree. I love the focus on Spain. Learning about Barcelona and Catalan. I wish there was more. Especially when the family talked about being arrested for protesting against Franco. That was really interesting. I wanted to know a little more about the differences especially since Catalan apparently had their own verison of everything. That bug celebration looked crazy and fun.

No tapas in Barcelona.

Instead a good chunk of the show featured the high-end chefs who made names for themselves but did it really advance the regional cuisine, considering that most people are not going to restaurants with Michelin stars?

These food travel shows are always going to feature these high-end restaurants because they have beautiful decors and they plate the dishes into little sculptures or artistic designs, which are photogenic.

I like the segment about pan tomate, a very simple preparation invented out of necessity, food shortages following the Spanish Civil War and WWII when food was often rationed in Europe.

I imagine the Basque region episode will feature the high-end restaurants in San Sebastián, since those are world-famous chefs as well.
