Xeliou66 November 14 Share November 14 Episode Description Bruno must get to the center of a victim’s incomplete story to track down a serial rapist; Carisi is helpless to stop a crime he suspects is about to be committed. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150604-s26e07-tenfold/
pezgirl7 November 15 Share November 15 Enjoyed this episode mostly due to Bruno, Fin and Carisi. Benson getting on Bruno’s and Fin’s asses because the victim didn’t fully trust them was dumb. Not everyone has her special victim-whispering skills.🙄 9 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150604-s26e07-tenfold/#findComment-8507984
Xeliou66 November 15 Author Share November 15 Good episode, because of Fin and Bruno and their investigative work. It was great to see them take center stage and solve a case mostly on their own with minimal Benson involvement. Bruno and Fin are the best parts of SVU now, the more of them together the better, and it was good to have a classic sexual assault investigation without soapy crap. The main case was strong. Didn’t care about Carisi and his obsession with nailing the pervert teacher guy, and of course he needed St O to step in and save the day, so cliched. But it took Benson off of the main case and allowed Fin and Bruno to get most of the glory of solving it, so that was nice. Probably the best episode of the season because of Bruno and Fin and their case. 11 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150604-s26e07-tenfold/#findComment-8508046
wknt3 November 15 Share November 15 (edited) The Good: Bruno. He actually got to be front and center as promised. Both character and actor were great as usual. Fin. Probably the most screen time this season. Definitely the best material this season and a great mix of snark and sensitivity. When you actually give him some material Ice-T can still bring it and not just coast on charm and viewer good will. Silva and Curry. Both were well used in the COTW. And it was especially nice to see Silva getting actual development for a second week in a row beyond generic tough girl and extra body. The COTW. Nothing new, but at this point there probably isn't anything they can do that hasn't already been done. Just a solid case worked by dedicated, but professional investigators and solved by real police work instead of one captain's genius and victim whispering super powers. The Bad: The Benson/Carisi subplot. I hate it when they make characters we all know well and like into idiots just so Benson can be the one to set them straight. On the other hand it did give her a way to be front and center without taking over the case and let Fin and Bruno actually get the ending they deserved. Overall this was a solid idea well executed. An actual good episode and the first one that actually seems like a template for how they can stay watchable for more than another 15 episodes. I hope we get more of Benson leading while also doing her own thing - if it gets too bad we can just FF and get through a good story of elite investigators investigating a sexually based offense quicker. And if by some chance it is a good, or merely tolerable, subplot we have a win win situation! EtheltoTillie November 15 Share November 15 I really liked the episode and the detective work. I was on the fence about the pedophile subplot. I like to see Carisi, so there's that. I thought the pedo teacher looked familar--well, he was in a Hallmark Christmas movie I watched last weekend LOL. 1 7 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150604-s26e07-tenfold/#findComment-8508320
MediaZone4K November 16 Share November 16 (edited) Its different to see people here want Benson in moderation while the media reveres her as the star of the show. But I think she was best with Stabler, as a partner, not the sole star. The Benson/Carisi sub plot posed an interesting dilemma. How should we feel about pedophiles who are rightfully disgusted by their urges and seek preventative help? What kind of treatments out there exist other than support groups? Chemical castration?? It was an uncomfortable and interesting topic. Edited November 19 by MediaZone4K 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150604-s26e07-tenfold/#findComment-8509261

It was like he never was a detective or went to law school. It's a bad plot when St. Olivia has to school an ADA in the merits of the law and what is legal and what is not. Carisi's character was looking like a big asshat. 8 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150604-s26e07-tenfold/#findComment-8509544
tennisgurl November 18 Share November 18 Its so great to see Bruno and Fin front and center, it made for a really strong COTW. Nothing shocking but a solid case with good performances from the guest cast, especially the woman playing the rape victim. Bruno and Finn are great together and it was great seeing cops who, while clearly caring about the victim and the case, were still keeping it professional. The thing that kept this from being a really good episode was the cringe inducing Olivia/Carisi plot, which was insufferable. I hate that Carisi had to act like such an unhinged weirdo so that Olivia can be All Knowing St. Olivia who has to explain to an ADA how law works. 7 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150604-s26e07-tenfold/#findComment-8511219
