Huh? Did I miss something? Why did he strangle his kid? And now he’s in purgatory? Oh yeah, why did he strangle his kid? Someone please explain?

I hope the rest of these eps are better.

This seems like an interesting rough draft, but I feel that the writers strike probably prevented TPTB from doing a rewrite before filming the episode.

I assume the twist is that he killed his kid, and because he committed the cardinal sin of killing his kid.. he is stuck in purgatory for life.

I swear, every time I'm out, they pull me back in. I know that this show is terrible 8 times out of 10, and yet the basic ideas they come up with are so interesting and they can usually manage some cool creepy visuals, I always end up coming back like the sucker I am.

Michael Imperioli, who is truly aging like a classy bourbon, has a real gift for being charming even when he's playing a total shitbag. This episode was alright, it felt like an early draft that needed a bit more work. Its cool that they wanted to use the backrooms creepy pasta series, but they didn't end up doing very much with the concept, and I really could have used more information about why the hell this guy decided to strange his own son. Was it just that he thought having a kid was annoying? I could use a bit more guys.

I thought he was in purgatory because he couldn't admit it.

Did the escalator scene remind anyone of Mulholland Drive?
