Are you asking for other opinions?

Agree there should be some consensus and/or guidance from whoever is left in charge here. Because I don't necessarily want to wade through episodes that I found completely boring.

Just create guidance for thread topic format and let members create episode specific threads as needed.  It's kind of already how its working and still has the benefits of bottling relevant conversations together.

I think one thread for the season is fine because there is not always someone making a thread for each individual episode.  I usually watch the episodes, but i may not get to them until the middle of the week.

well, Friday's episode, was half ok.  Buck Sexton, ugh.  just a toxic male encouraging other toxic males.  yeah, white male complaining they don't control everything anymore.  boo hoo.  trump running around going everywhere.  yeah, to friendly places where he fails to actually answer questions and says stuff that makes absolutely no sense, weave or not.  at least Kamala is answering questions with actual substantive information.  Laura Coates talked some sense and had good responses.

Having a daughter who quotes Chappell Roan for Jesus, I appreciated Bill's New Rules.

Hi everyone,

thank you for your input.

As I’m assuming you can tell, the moderator team concluded to finish out the season with individual episode topics. (We thought it best for continuity/organizational purposes).

Since Real Time With Bill Maher is a show that’s watched and commented on by episode and where comments are specific to an episode (as opposed to a show that may be binge-watched and commented on in more general terms), we’re currently leaning towards keeping individual episode topics for next season, too. But we’re open to seasonal topics if members who frequent the forum think it makes more sense.

Per request, you can find guidance for creating a topic here

Is there someone in charge of creating the threads?  This week’s show still doesn’t have one.

I believe someone upthread asked the same question and was told anyone could go ahead and create the weekly thread as long as they follow the same pattern.

I would have left this as one topic as it seems not enough people are watching. I never want to start a topic because it’s too much work to follow the required format. I don’t know why it’s required that we follow something so strict.

I don't feel like making a thread about the newest episode because I'll likely screw up the naming convention, but can we discuss bill having this health crackpot lady on this evening?  She cites average life spans in America, but can't bring herself to discuss the disparities in healthcare for minorities or that we are the gun country so people die of lead poisoning at a rate like no other country on the planet?  How about high-fructose corn syrup?  They talk about profitability of big pharma, but conveniently don't discuss the profitability chasers like Big Ag.

They are trying to sane-wash RFK.  They act like him having one good idea covers up for all of the wrong ideas he has.  They are praising a broken clock for being right twice a day.  This is crazy pants.  RFK is "spiritual in nature".  This is nonsense. "He speaks to ravens." is said unironically as if it is soothing?  GTFOH

We're certainly not a healthy society in general, and it's not nearly the policy importance it should be. Neither is the environment. But, it's a lot complex than that woman was making it out to be for sure. Additionally, she's flat out delusional if she thinks personal health was even remotely on anyone's mind who voted for Trump. Or anyone.

I wish we could have a serious conversation about health. I don't think that's RFK.

MK is right though. You can't go to 11 on everything Trump does. Are these people in the cabinet qualified? Mostly no. I don't think they'll get much of anything done simply due to ineptitude. Frustrating, certainly. Don't stay home and not vote.

Ah. Go watch OT. The doctor's brother is tight with RFK.

What I wouldn't give for anyone to just act on in good faith.

They should be 5150-ed upon exiting the studio immediately if they think Trump is going to be a 'disruptor' and fix health.

Isgur said last week and has been saying, it's not a mandate and there's going to be overreach on the election.

Raw milk is not good for you. Also, stop drinking milk.

The fact humans drink the biological liquid of another animal grosses me out.

I've been at professional meetings where we have breakfast at a regular restaurant, not catered, and grown men ordering milk.

Yup, milk is still sold in supermarkets and people buy it!  Shocker! I had a bowl of Corn Chex this morning with milk.  Nothing beats cookies with milk.  This week I have Vienna Fingers.

There's other milk products you can consume though.

Given the environmental concerns and conditions for mass milk production, seeking or exploring alternatives is fair.

Regardless, people get sick from raw milk. That's what used to happen before pasturizing.
