That was Ryan Hansen, he was in Veronica Mars with Bell and they are good friends.

If you mean Kyle, the guy Joanne called, @ramonaflowers is right. That was Ryan Hansen.

If they meant the Ryan Hansen character, I think "DB" probably stands for douchebag.

Playing "Kyle". Hansen also played Kyle Bradway on the LA-set show "Party Down". Bradway's band Karma Rocket -- he's wearing the shirt here -- had an incredible comedic moment on the show. What a fun crossover. Actually, every bit of Party Down is gold. Kristen Bell guested on Party Down before too.

(Meanwhile, this "am I good enough to be with an actually good person" story has strong echoes of KB's Eleanor Shellstrop role on "The Good Place".)

It does. Joanne is like if you took Eleanor out of sitcom world, where everything is exaggerated to the point where she's not just self-involved, but is actually selfish to the point of being an "Arizona trash bag."
