Snazzy Daisy September 19 Share September 19 (edited) Quote The trajectory of Jose and Kitty's relationship — from their courtship through their fracturing marriage — plays out against family therapy sessions. Air Date: Sep 19, 2024 Edited September 19 by Snazzy Daisy Link to comment
Snazzy Daisy September 22 Author Share September 22 This episode showcases the intergenerational abuse within the family. Leslie’s question about why Kitty was worried about AIDS with Erik has also been answered. During a court-mandated therapy session, the brothers mentioned how home life was not the easiest. Jose then berated and resented them. This could be why the brothers stay silent on the abuse. Alternatively, could Jose be telling the truth about his sons? Quote “What my sons tell you, they are not to be trusted. They’re liars. They’re fabulists. They’re sociopaths.” I have zero sympathy for the brothers when they have to apologize for the robberies. Jose should’ve made them work to pay for the damages. The Menendez family dynamic is well documented in the family photo — forced smiles, lack of affection, pretentious grins. Link to comment
iMonrey September 23 Share September 23 This episode felt like it was written specifically to give Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny meaty enough material to want to be involved in this project. Otherwise they are supporting players and might have felt the parts weren't big enough for them. It wasn't a bad episode, but like so much else of this series, it is almost entirely speculative. 4 Link to comment
sainte-chapelle September 30 Share September 30 I liked the episode. When they were arrested Jose had zero concern for them…he cried because it was all about him and how it affects his image. Jose practicing his smile for the Sears photo while Erik ,standing in the background, nervously attempts to put his had on his fathers shoulder then changes his mind…it was well done. 2 Link to comment

Cementhead November 12 Share November 12 Bardem did a fantastic job in this. So much so, that I had to actually stop the show at one point to go online and verify that it was in fact him, even though I knew I read it was, because he literally became Jose to me. He and Cooper Koch get full props from me and are the reason why I am watching this to the end even though it is a very tough watch. Link to comment
