BetterButter August 29 Share August 29 Nobody Wants This Netflix Comedy Sept 26 Quote An agnostic podcast host and an unconventional rabbi on the rebound walk into a party. When they walk out — together — the unlikely pair, Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody), can tell there is something between them. But also potentially between them, with their differing outlooks on life, all of the modern obstacles to love, and their sometimes well-meaning, sometimes sabotaging families — including her sister Morgan (Justine Lupe) and his brother Sasha (Timothy Simons). AnimeMania September 2 Share September 2 "Nobody Wants This" is a 10 episode half-hour Comedy (Rom-Com) TV Series streaming on September 26, 2024 on Netflix. "Nobody Wants This" is based on the life of Joanne Foster, although the Jewish man that she married is not a Rabbi. Joanne, an outspoken, brutally honest, provocative agnostic woman and her charming-yet-cutting, quick-witted sister, Morgan host a hit sex themed podcast centered around fizzy banter and their ride-or-die commitment to being alone. Then, Joanne goes to a party and meets an unconventional rabbi on the rebound, named Noah. They become involved in what seems like an unlikely relationship based on their differing outlooks on life. The path to love can be full of modern obstacles, including disapproval and sabotage from meddling family members on both sides. Kristen Bell as Joanne, a podcaster, writing a book about her dating life. Justine Lupe as Morgan, Joanne's sister, she doesn't feel the need to strive for more than she already has - which happens to be a hit podcast with Joanne, built around their buzzy banter and ride-or-die commitment to being alone together. Michael Hitchcock as Henry, Joanne and Morgan's newly out-of-the-closet father, who is "gay, opinionated and owning it! Stephanie Faracy as Lynn, Joanne and Morgan's recently-divorced mother with a New Age propensity for the mystical. Sherry Cola as Ashley, Joanne's lesbian, no-nonsense best friend. Paul Ben-Victor as Ilan, Noah and Sasha's father, who also acts as Noah's moral compass. Tovah Feldshuh as Bina, Noah and Sasha's coldly aloof mother, a woman for whom family is everything. Adam Brody as Noah, a charming rabbi who is stuck in his ways and used to playing things safe. He starts to stumble when he meets a brutally honest and provocative Joanne, who totally upends his safe life plan. Emily Arlook as Rebecca, Noah's "perfect" Jewish girlfriend who has done "everything right" to get him to propose. Timothy Simons as Sasha, Noah's outlandish, eccentric, delusionally confident older brother who loves living vicariously through his "golden child" sibling. Jackie Tohn as Esther, Sasha's wife and Noah's sister-in-law, who doesn't suffer fools. Shiloh Bearman as Miriam, Sasha and Esther's earnest teen daughter. Link to comment
General Days October 10 Share October 10 Deadline has an article on the renewal explaining the reason for the showrunner change. It sounds reasonable enough. I'm less worried than I usually am when a beloved show makes a change at the top. 1 Link to comment
