Rockstar99435 October 3 Share October 3 Hera was amazing in this episode. She's not usually my favorite in any retelling; she tends to only get portrayed as a jealous bitch without much nuance. I like her better as a strong and capable antagonist to Zeus, even if he doesn't know it. Watching her manipulate Zeus was great. I'm glad the Fates weren't really after Ariadne. I know that the Fates don't care about technicalities. They went after Heracles for killing his children, even though he was drugged/cursed and not in control of himself. But going after a baby for murder would be ridiculous. 2 Link to comment
shrewd.buddha October 6 Share October 6 Hera's speech to Zeus was very well done. They do a good job of portraying Hera as someone who very much craves power and position and resents being dependent on Zeus to have it. The other gods resent Zeus' power and always seem to try to betray or backstab - - because of their own pettiness and fear of openly confronting him. Some of the interpretations are interesting. But some of the locations and settings are confusing: sort of American, sort of Greek, some places look like the Australian outback, etc. The aesthetic is also interesting, but makes no sense. The gods have some sort of old telephone and television technology? And the underworld also uses some type of computer tech from the '70's? Link to comment

Perhaps the assumption is that technology would not develop as fast. Either the existence of the gods reduces or distracts or actively discourages it? Maybe prometheus being bound is the cause. 1 Link to comment
