Well, good for the teenage girl who doesn't have to clean the men's restroom anymore!

So, we had three buzzers tonight and all of them were by teens.  Meh.  It was great to see Karsten, his adorable students, and his awesome mother.  Also, great to see Barclay and her fiancée and she had a great run.  But we barely saw Nick Hansen at all and we didn't see Abel Gonzalez, except when he was cheering on his protégé from the sidelines.

I guess I'm just going to have to stop kvetching and realize that this is now an entirely different show and decide if it's still worth watching as it is or not.

Looks as though we have one more week of qualifiers and then it's onto the semis.  Again, I'm not enthused by the "ninja vs ninja" idea (although Akbar seems to love it!), but I guess I'll see how it lands.

It’s weird to me, which Ninjas get full backstories and which get the WWWA treatment. I mean, we get multiple back story videos about a college student obsessed with his cat but a teenager who builds robots gets a blink-and-you-miss it demo of him working his robot car before his run. Maybe it’s just me, but I’d much rather see a backstory on something cool that takes skill, like how a high-schooler builds robots, than Jackson scootering around his university campus with a plush replica of his cat in a basket.

It was great to see Barclay have a good run. She's had some challenges the past few years. She seems to be in top form.

I heard Hunter Ogden hurt himself, so even though he qualified, he had to drop out.

I watched last night (using a DVR) in 30 mins. Only one hour, plus lots of filler & commercials makes for a short show.

I'm usually not very interested in the teenagers but I've been impressed with Vance Walker since he was on ANW Junior, partly because of his backstory and partly because he's really good.  Last night, I liked Anna McCarthy because she came across as a very nice girl and the blond boy who works three jobs.  He also seemed nice and he had skills.  I hope they all do well.

Once upon a time, I as an aged 40 something had a young female tech I was training. She had had a daughter two years earlier and was trying to get back in shape.  One morning she was crying and I asked why.  That morning at home she was on the ground trying her stretches and trying to touch her nose to her straightened knee cap.  Daughter comes over , mimics her Mom's stance and touches her nose to her knee cap and further rests her cheek on the floor next to her knee. And asks her Mommy if she could do it?   Mommy got to thinking on her way to work and realized she'd never have some flexibility ever again.

And that's what I think of when I see the teenagers, the very light weight teen agers scooting through the course.
