Heh, I'm not only "boycotting" the no-way-in-hell-is-that-a "thanks" reaction, but when I come across an old "thanks" I gave now looking like a smile melted into tears, I change it to a Like, Heart, Applause, or Useful.
At the same time, I realize a lot of people had no idea what the rainbow circle was supposed to signify, so maybe it's better to use the others anyway.

And, also like you, @SoMuchTV, it drives me a little nuts when the thread titles are inconsistent — which is why I started these threads now instead of waiting.😉

I hope it wasn't too soon. We shall see.

I should have first replied here so the episode thread wouldn't get so cluttered

—and now I've fulfilled my own prophecy of doom. 😣

At least 2 other threads that I participate in have filled up pages about emoji-gate. 

I actually almost used the new response emoji in the Milestone Moments: All The Celebrity Vitals thread, but did not, on principle.🙃

 

@SoMuchTV and @MMEButterfly, feel free to edit your posts on the episode thread by replacing them with something like:

Regarding spacing after periods:  in a forum I won’t name, there was a poster who consistently used three spaces after a period. It was much more noticeable to me than one vs. two. Then a different user turned up who was doing the same thing, causing me to go to Elsbeth-levels of stalking their post history to see if it was really the same person. No murders involved, though, as far as I know.

@shapeshifter, I kept some of my mother's tote collection.  Yours reminded me of hers.  I still have them and use them on occasion, al least the ones that aren't too worn to use.  She had some really interesting iconic ones from NYC back in the day like Barnes and Noble and other now defunct bookstores, National Geographic magazine, WNET, museum gift shops, etc.  Some are a little too fragile to use but I wouldn't part with them for anything.

My Dad was also a typical male NY-er in being an early adopter of the "murse", which was really just a soft-sided tote/shoulder bag/briefcase that he carried to work every day.  I kept a couple of those too.

ETA:  I also wanted to say that Elsbeth and her quirky eccentricities actually fit in very well with NYC culture.  NY has a long history of beloved eccentrics and everything about her including her wardrobe and tote bags fit in quite well with them.

Maybe make a quilt or wall hanging from the old, iconic totes?! Or frame them?

Circling back to the number of spaces after a period - there’s another show from the Kings, Evil (featuring Mr Carrie Preston, Michael Emerson) that has been getting some attention lately because a new season is out. I decided to give it a try. (The first two seasons are on Netflix.)  I hope it’s not spoiling much to say that in one episode, the one-vs-two space thing was a very minor plot point. Maybe Elsbeth gave them the long-awaited chance to develop that concept!
