They finished filming long before the renewal notice. Whatever answers we do or don't get aren't related to the renewal.

They can't rewrite/refilm with the writers' strike going on now, but if there wasn't a strike, they certainly could have rewritten/refilmed and changed certain things based on renewal. Typically, shows need to be submitted for final executive/censor review 48 hours before broadcast. Other tv shows do it all the time. For example, Ghosts's season 1 ending was changed when they found out they were renewed.

Silo season two has begun filming at Hoddesdon Studios in Hertfordshire, UK!

Also, per a writer on the show:  "The writing was done before the strike. Scripts are in great shape."   😎
