Just finished this show and while it was entertaining, I really wish the writing had been tighter. Getting into the cockpit was so stupid. I do not see a pilot actually choosing to let his plane get hijacked because of his mistress. If it had been his child, I could maybe see it, but after 9/11, just no freaking way. Also, because of 9/11, enough passengers would fight back to make it not even matter whether or not the pilot would let hijackers into the cockpit. I think that's what the creator meant when he said hijackings don't happen, because they just don't anymore. If the passengers think their death is imminent, it becomes 200 people fighting for their lives against maybe a handful of hijackers.

And I could kind of hand wave them letting the plane get to England, but the second they let that plane go over London, they lost me for good. There is no way in hell any government is letting a hijacked plane in the airspace of their biggest city. They seriously could've kept the show entertaining with just a few changes to make it slightly more plausible, even though I still don't think a plane would get hijacked.

I just finished this, and I was confused, too. I thought they referred to him as a suspect, when the doors closed, and then that guy saying if he was going down, so was John (? I’ve already forgotten his name). Sam.

I do like that the ex-wife’s new boyfriend, was a good guy, and saved their son.

in general, i thought this was pretty good.  the hijak itself was suspenseful as well as Sam's working both sides to resolve problems.

the reason for the hijak along with need  to "clean" the others involved and their family seemed a bit too far out.  did they have cleaners on the families of Amanda and the guy who brought on the guns?  and i guess had a spare set to go after Sam's family?  they didn't have one at "mum's" house, but maybe they felt sure she'd keep quiet?  not sure why though if her sons were under the impression that the plane would eventually land.

so i guess technically pilots are not supposed to open the door no matter how many passengers a hijaker killed as a threat?  the captain sure blew it, but there wouldn't be a movie if he didn't open the door.

and stock shorting is still confusing to me.  I think i get the mechanics. Person A "borrows" high value stock from person B and sells the stock while its high, then buys the stock back when it falls low and keeps the profits while returning the borrowed stock back to Person B, who now owns stock worth a whole lot less (and person B was unable to sell his stock while it was high, before it crashed, because he had loaned it to person A). So why would person B ever "loan" their stock to A? wouldn't someone know that's the scheme when someone asks to borrow their stock?

or i think i've heard that person A "pledges" to buy stock from "the market". and based on that pledge A "sells stock" (that he technically doesn't really own yet) at the high price, waits for the price to drop, then fulfills the pledge by actually buying the stock now at the low price, and thus has the stock to transfer to whoever bought it from him when the price was high. again, this sounds like a total scam.
