Interesting group. First impressions, I think Lee has a good shot at it, despite being kind of thin. He's used to survivalist situations in extreme cold weather since he already does that in Alaska. I've wondered before it maybe you're actually better off starting out on the lean side than bulking up, because then your body is more accustomed to subsisting on less.

They all seem to have experience playing survivalists, but aside from Lee, it seems like too few of them have done it in extreme cold weather, like Mikey from Georgia, or Taz, who grew up in Brazil, or Luke who grew up in Hawaii. The two from Wyoming - Jodi and Cade - have probably dealt with harsh winters but whether or not they put their survival skills to use during them remains a question.

Ann just seems like a "character." Then again, so did Karie Lee last season and she almost won. Not sure about Melanie either. None of the three women look that strong.

Let the starvation begin!

Lee was impressive, building the raft and setting a net so quickly.  It looked like just another day around the house for him.  Loved his story about his mother.

I just wanted to smack Cade in the head!!!  He's an experienced hunter, tracker, and all-around outdoorsman.  How did he not feel his quiver drop off?  And how could he not figure out the same way to go back as the way he came?  If he's a tracker, could he not have followed his own tracks . . . slowly . . . looking on each side of his own trail?  It seems that the quiver and arrows would not have rolled away from the side of the trail.  It sounds like he has no plans to look for them; he's just written them off, and hoping to be able to get enough fish and perhaps set snares for small game.

Those who build log cabins usually don't last long on Alone.  They expend all their energy on building a shelter, and then have none left to procure food.  But the cabin that one lady was building looked sturdy!

I wish them all well.  They are doing something using skills I don't have, and I'm impressed.

I was glad they did this episode to show how they prep them before the drop. And introduce the cast a little more. One thing that kept distracting me was the face masks outdoors. I wonder when this was filmed? Especially them being outdoors with masks on constantly. I wonder if it's just worry about getting sick before they begin. Where I live, barely anyone wears masks anymore and I haven't even heard anyone speak about COVID or having had it in the past several months. (Southern US).

Agree.

A well produced behind the curtain show for longtime fans of Alone.

Including the tribal elders' blessing the participants and show staff a nice addition.

Diverse group that is qualified and not just pretty for the cameras.

Thinking how far Alone has come in 10 years, from the worse participants(the knife forging brothers) to the most dubiousfrom the get go to me(the guy who was afraid to leave his fenced yard at home without a firearm) to the winners that would fare poorly against this new group.

Giddy up, looking forward to another interesting season.
