Richard Osman is the author of the utterly delightful Thursday Murder Club series, and I can't wait to hear what he has to say.

Osman was a delight when he was last on TGNS, when the first book came out.  He's a fixture on British panel shows.

I can't stand Tom Hanks. He seems to be one of those people I couldn't be around for more than 2 minutes.

supposebly I agree with you!   I like Tom Hanks in most of his movies, but as a guest on a chat show, nope.  He’s always “ON!”, and can’t seem to let there be a millisecond of silence that someone else may fill.  His behavior on TGNS is similar to Wil Smith’s (before he became persona non grata).  Neither is as “aw shucks” charming, or as HI-larious as they seem to think themselves to be.

Hanks was kind of an attention hog, but the show played into it by showing his reactions to things we didn't really need.
