paulvdb July 21, 2022 Share July 21, 2022 Jeff Goldblum Joins Netflix Series ‘Kaos’, Replacing Hugh Grant Goldblum joins Kaos‘ ensemble cast, which includes Janet McTeer, Cliff Curtis, David Thewlis, Killian Scott, Aurora Perrineau, Misia Butler, Leila Farzad, Nabhaan Rizwan, Rakie Ayola and Stanley Townsend. Filming is slated to begin later this summer. Kaos is billed as a bold, darkly comic contemporary take on Greek mythology, exploring love, power and life in the underworld. Nothing is sacred in Covell’s bold reinvention of Greek myths (think tracksuits not togas), except the treachery and arrogance of a bunch of inconstant gods and their cosmic machinations…Some things never change. Goldblum will play the seemingly all-powerful, yet desperately insecure and vengeful Zeus, who has long enjoyed his status as King of The Gods. That is, until he wakes up one morning and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. Neurosis then sets in, setting him off on a dangerous, paranoid path. Zeus becomes convinced his fall is coming – and starts to see signs of it everywhere. Link to comment

AnimeMania August 18 Share August 18 Kaos is an 8 episode dark-comedy TV Series streaming on August 29, 2024 on Netflix, inspired by Mythology. Although there is not a lot of information about the plot, one could summize some small details about the story based on Mythology. The character Ari is Ariadne, so one might assume that her father is Minos, that she and her lover, Theseus, might kill a Minotaur, and at some point she might marry Dionysus. Here are things we do know: Brilliant Prometheus, once a friend of Zeus, now in eternal torment by order of Zeus, has orchestrated a plan to use several humans to bring about the downfall of the Gods of Olympus and the Gods are too self absorbed to even notice. Jeff Goldblum as Zeus, King of the Gods, a "cruel, stylish and all-powerful" ruler of the world — "that is, until he's not. His reign "has never been truly threatened" — "until he wakes up one morning and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead". Zeus has an existential crisis when he thinks he might be getting old and decides to step away from the whole "King of the Gods" thing and enjoy life. Janet McTeer as Hera, Queen of the Gods and sister/wife of Zeus. Nabhaan Rizwan as Dionysus, Zeus' favorite son, although his mother was a mortal, Zeus makes Dionysus the God of Pleasure. Dionysus is spiraling out of control and is on a cosmic collision course with his father. Cliff Curtis as Poseidon, Zeus' Brother, God of Sea, he likes to sail around the world partying on his super-yacht. David Thewlis as Hades, Zeus' Brother, God of the Underworld, is secretly losing his grip on his dark dominion. There is a backlog of dead waiting to be processed and they are growing restless. Rakie Ayola as Persephone, Queen of the Underworld. Stephen Dillane as Prometheus, once a friend of Zeus, now his prisoner is orchestrating a plan to bring Zeus down. Killian Scott as Orpheus, a human, a distracted rock-star, husband of Riddy. Aurora Perrineau as Riddy/Eurydice, a human, Orpheus' disillusioned wife. Misia Butler as Caneus, a human. Leila Farzad as Ari/Ariadne, a human. Daniel Lawrence Taylor as Theseus, a human. Billie Piper as Cassandra. Debi Mazar as Medusa. Amanda Douge as Andromache. Daniel Monks as Nax. shrewd.buddha October 9 Share October 9 It wasn't particularly bad - and the Greek Myths reinterpretation was definitely a pull. Maybe the slow buildup approach with no big payoff at the season finale was not the best idea. The showrunners hedged too many bets that the audience would stick around for more while not being given very much in the meantime.. There should have been some standout episodes but none were particularly memorable. Link to comment
jcin617 October 10 Share October 10 Well, that’s typical Netflix isn’t it? So many of their shows wind up one and done. Link to comment

Yes, there was 1899, a show my husband and I really enjoyed... gone after one season. I had this on my list to watch but why bother? Link to comment
