S02.E16: Keys to the Kingdom

Recommended Posts

As soon as we actually got to see Tubbs outside the office (or not at a crime scene) and even bond with his cat in a sweet way, I figured things were not going to go well for him.  At least he's still alive, but this is literally the second time he's been shot on this show.  How much longer can keep going at this rate?  Of course, the previews for next week were kind of enough to spoil the outcome, so great job with even attempting any form of suspense there, ABC promo department.

Lindor was in fine form tonight by making the somewhat love triangle more awkward than it needed to be by just being his normal self.  At least there doesn't seem to be any hard feelings between Cassie and Jerrie.  If anything, Jerrie has been refreshingly mature about it.  She clearly is a little upset that Lindor picked Cassie over her, but doesn't it hold it against Cassie or even Lindor for going with whoever he thinks will make him happy.  Of course, now both Lindor and Jerrie are going off together to try and finally catch Scarlett, so we'll see if anything will flare up during their time together!

Bryce's time as a C.I. has to be a record for the shortest time ever.  Didn't even last an episode!  And it ends up being used to have Tonya get her first kill!  And she seems to handle it strangely well.  Not like she enjoyed it or anything, but clearly doesn't seemed faze.  And Ren is so proud of her!  So inspiring!  Well, besides the whole killing thing.  And the fact they're working in the deadly drug game...

Once again, it looks like the biggest obstacle for everyone here is someone they didn't expect, as Richard is pretty much just screwing everyone over here.  Don't see this ending well for him, but I do admire his ability to stir the hornet's next for both the heroes and the Bhullars.

Honestly kind of a straightforward episode for Big Sky.  A few normal preposterous moments, but they seemed to tone down the batshit insanity somewhat.  Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Tonya is really becoming the Scarlett of the season, the seemingly nice normal woman who gets sucked into a criminal scheme only to be revealed to have crazy ice in her veins, although Scarlett is more crazy while Tonya is less crazy and more icy. Its weirdly sweet how proud Ren and Donno were of how easily she killed Bryce, in a twisted murderous kind of way.

Poor Tubbs, I knew something would happen to him when we saw him hanging around at home with his cute cat. At least he's only hurt for now and not dead, Richard really is throwing a wrench into everyone's plans, the good guys and the bad guys.

Of course Jenny, a woman who has worked for the department for about a month with less than zero respect for the police department, is immediately in charge of the entire station and the investigation into who killed their sheriff. You just picture the cops who have been there for twenty years in the background, rolling their eyes.

7 our of 10? Ouch, poor Lindor. Of course, now that he and Jerri are on the road looking for Scarlett together...
