You are not alone.  I couldn't stand it and I thought I was going crazy hearing all the accolades it got.

Am I the only person who didn’t like this movie?

Maybe I should have seen this in a theater because I would have been less likely to walk out after just plunking down something like $30 for ticket and popcorn.

As it turns out, I saw it on Amazon and turned it the eff off after about 25 minutes.   IMO, the film was unapproachable and not even remotely viewer friendly.   The chaotic first scenes, the dialogue jumping back and forth between Mandarin and English, the introduction of one tedious conflict after another (the party, the laundromat confusion, Gong Gong, the daughter's girlfriend, tax audit) and the generally unlikable, unsympathetic characters ... Why would anyone continue watching this, I wondered, unless they had just paid a lot of money to see it in a theater?  To make matters worse, then the universes started shifting, demanding that I  work even harder to watch this thing.

I swore and turned it off.  Not only that, I manually hid it on my Amazon so that it is never suggested to me again.
