What if a secret society of five men has been working to influence world events for the greater good since the Black Plague of 1347?

As this new series begins, one unlikely Canadian journalist finds himself embroiled in a mission to uncover the truth and just possibly save the world himself. Remember, the Pentaverate must never be exposed!

Mike Myers is taking on eight different roles in the new series.
Ken Scarborough: An old-school Canadian news journalist who sets out to expose the Pentaverate and win his job back.

Anthony Lansdowne: A New England conspiracy theorist who is determined to expose the Pentaverate.
Rex Smith: A far-right radio host and highly prominent conspiracy theorist.
Lord Lordington: The Pentaverate’s oldest and highest-ranking member.
Bruce Baldwin: Former media mogul.
Mishu Ivanov: Ex-Russian oligarch.
Shep Gordon: Former rock ‘n’ roll manager.
Jason Eccleston: A tech genius who invented the Pentaverate’s super computer, MENTOR.

Jennifer Saunders plays two roles, The Maester of Dubrovnik and Saester of Dubrovnik.
The Maester of Dubrovnik: The head investigator for the Pentaverate, who is summoned from his ancestral home in Dubrovnik to investigate the suspicious deaths.

The Saester of Dubrovnik: The Maester’s sister and protector of the parce clavem, the spare key for the Pentaverate’s voting apparatus, which is hidden in Dubrovnik.

Ken Jeong is Skip Cho: A casino mogul with extensive knowledge in the chaos theory of weather patterns.

Keegan-Michael Key is Dr. Hobart Clark: A nuclear physicist who was recruited into the Pentaverate to resolve the climate change disaster.

Debi Mazar is Patty Davis, the highly trusted Executive Assistant to the Pentaverate — some would say the brains behind the whole operation.

Richard McCabe is Exalted Pikeman Higgins, Head of the Liechtenstein Guard, the Pentaverate’s security force.

Lydia West is Reilly Clayton, a young woman working at the Canadian news station with Ken. She goes on the adventure with him to expose the Pentaverate — all while hiding a secret of her own.

Canadian reporter Ken Scarborough seeks out a hard-hitting story to save his job. Meanwhile, a new face is asked to join a centuries-old secret society.

S01.E02: Episode 2 

As the Meadows draws near, professor Clark attempts a scientific breakthrough, a guest investigates Jason's death, and Ken endures a painful test.

S01.E03: Episode 3 
At Pentaverate headquarters, a billionaire high roller arrives amid news of another death. Ken embeds with the guards and is sent on a risky mission.

S01.E04: Episode 4 

To retrieve the Parce Clavem, Ken heads to Dubrovnik, where a tricky challenge awaits. Later, a mysterious man and a helicopter ride upend Ken's plans.

S01.E05: Episode 5
After Patty's smarts prove invaluable, the Pentaverate races to the Meadows to stop a diabolical plan, while Ken and Reilly are taken hostage on a jet.

S01.E06: Episode 6 
At the Meadows, Ken strips down before rallying the guards into action. Can he stop the Pentaverate from falling into nefarious hands?

We watched the first episode last night. It’s classic Mike Meyers. I liked that they did a Keye & Peele shoutout. The whole “Canada is slightly more fuzzy than America” bit was hilarious. I also liked the modern and old school tech mixture in the opening sequence plus the fake out with the blindfold with the helicopter pilot.

I heard about this show on Carvey's and Spade's SNL podcast when Myers was the guest. He had just teased the concept and said he was playing so many characters. 

I liked the opening with Key being an outsider just freaking out. 

I don't know who they have writing the jokes, but the fusion line about "oh come on, it's always being 2 more years" is actually a real joke in the field. Like with real nuclear physicists. I don't know maybe just a coincidence but that was way spot on. 

They're zinging the jokes f a s t in the introduction exposition scenes. 

'Birds aren't real' cracks me up all the time. 

And they got Jennifer Saunders.

Not nearly as funny as it should have been, but not totally horrible. The jokes were very childish (like the Sasquatch pooping or censoring the wieners at the orgy scene) and they spent way too much time setting up jokes that weren't even that funny. The jokes didn't flow from the situations, they forced the situations just to make the joke. The multitude of characters seemed underutilized, they had a small part and then they were done, none of them seemed like main characters. Did Keegan-Michael Key solve climate change? I have no idea from what I saw. It seemed like the computer understood his ideas as well as he did, so maybe the solution wasn't lost.

Maria M being the morning news anchor is just funny because she saying such nonsense so cheerfully.

Donnette make your brown eyes blue was a deep cut too. 

Was that full frontal Myers though? 

I did like the monologue on the internet from Baldwin.

That was really dumb.

And I enjoyed that quite a bit. That was all Mike Myers and you really have to appreciate his humor to get anything out of this. It did give me some laughs. And he was trying to make a point about the media, conspiracies, and the Internet.

The "dedicated to local journalists" part at the very end was a nice touch.

It was more fun than Moon Knight, though.

I think the Maria Menounos bits were my favorite parts, as someone who is so sick of random gas station videos with her.

Watched three episodes tonight with my husband and adult sons and we all laughed a lot. Like stomach hurting laughing. Will watch the rest tomorrow night.
