I enjoy this show for what it is, but the school board and townsfolk being up in arms that Coach Cal didn't win a state championship is so ridiculous. They made it to state, losing is disappointing but getting that far is something to be proud of.

I grew up in a small town how obsessed over State, basketball instead of baseball.....it really is this bad. We went to state nearly every year, and every time ALL the students 7th grade and up were bused to the capital both days for the competition so the junior high and high school could watch. It we won, they gave the school district a 4 day weekend off.

Adults are nuts, trying to live their glory days through their kids. The school board pissed me off.

Yes and in his first year.

 

Also, that's not how contracts work! That vote would have NEVER been taken publicly. Cal would have known he was being fired before the dang meeting.
