Who's the New Pierce?

Can I consider the exit of Chevy Chase as EHG having gotten its first scalp?  This begs the question, though: Who is The Pierce of Community now that OG Pierce is gone?

I mean, it's Chang, right?  It must be Chang.

I haven't even watched the episode yet and I can tell you that it's Chang. Chang has honestly been the Pierce of the show for about as long as Pierce has been the Pierce of the show.

Chang only has about two lines in the two episodes that aired, which is an acceptable amount.

True.  Leonard had more lines than Chang!  Which is good.  And it would indeed seem that to be a true Pierce of a show, a candidate would have to be a bigger presence than that.

I think we need someone to go on an Abed-esque quest to determine the proper new Pierce of Community.  Yarn and post-its will be involved.  Will it be Shirley?  Britta?  Jeff?  ABED HIMSELF???  Who knows?

Britta is an excellent Pierce candidate. Britta's never funny and neither is Gillian Jacobs, THERE I SAID IT.

I think Gillian Jacobs is great, but in the two episodes so far, Britta has seemed completely extraneous.

She's a thousand times funnier than Annie/Alison (whom I do love but is much better at drama), so what does that say?

 

 

I would say Chang. He had gotten so annoying.
