jewel21 March 6, 2021 Share March 6, 2021 Quote With Homecoming King and Queen nominations being announced, neither Spencer nor Coop seem to be in a celebratory mood with everything going on. Laura notices that Olivia has become more withdrawn and allows Olivia and Jordan to both take a mental health day and get some much-needed twin bonding time. Things get heated with Layla and Olivia, leaving Olivia to get some much-needed clarity. Meanwhile, Billy is frustrated with the interim principal's new rules, leaving Spencer to come up with a game plan with a little help from Grace. Airdate: 03/08/2021 Link to comment
KWalkerInc March 9, 2021 Share March 9, 2021 I knew halfway through the episode, when Olivia took a drink before her argument with Layla, that the last scene would have her get into a car accident. They just can't resist that kind of thing before a hiatus, ha ha. This will probably lead to Spencer and Olivia not getting together, either because it's too "complicated" still or because Olivia cannot be in a relationship while trying to get help for her drinking. She and Layla should probably never try to be friends again, but who knows what the show intends for the future. I hadn't thought that thinking Layla was too weak to handle it was the reason that Spencer got back together with her when he shouldn't have or that Olivia didn't tell her what happened. I can see why Layla might make that assumption (and I hope she will be okay), but I thought they were mostly avoiding their own feelings or trying to avoid a messy situation. That was nice that Jordan comforted Layla, though I didn't think they were really friends before this. Coop probably does have too much going on to be in regular school, but it doesn't seem like she does intend to do online classes or anything like many young artists do. It's nice that Mo has been doing good things elsewhere, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't have another side when it comes to defending her disgusting brother. I still don't buy it. I also don't really believe Vanessa isn't interested in Asher romantically (not that I care about her character), but I hope she won't hurt J.J. since he is so ridiculously into her. I guess the next big mystery is why the principal thinks that Billy punched him in high school when he is obviously mistaken. If he got punched that hard, maybe he has brain damage; or just didn't know the difference between the football players and just blamed the best one. He will look very stupid with his grudge after the truth comes out. At least he decided to give Jabari a chance by rightfully accepting his credits. (I had forgotten his name and it wasn't up on IMDb, then I looked again like one minute later and they had cast up!) It's weird that a team as shorthanded as South Crenshaw has a JV, unless that's where they mostly play freshmen like what has happened at my old high school. The hiatus is a week longer than had originally been listed, but I'm glad it's only four weeks when it could have been much more with them still having new episodes on June 14! 1 Link to comment
mojoween March 10, 2021 Share March 10, 2021 (edited) Like I feel we’re going to find out that Corey was the one who punched Carter, no? Spencer and Olivia have great chemistry...as friends. Vanessa can blat all she wants that she wants to be just friends with Droppy Dawg, but she’s lying. Edited March 10, 2021 by mojoween 1 Link to comment
KWalkerInc March 10, 2021 Share March 10, 2021 You're probably right about Corey. That's probably why Billy was so weird as he denied the allegation--if he said who really hit him, Carter would go after Spencer instead of Billy. I thought it was weird that Patience suddenly went away on tour with so little build-up, so I thought maybe Chelsea Tavares was doing a different show (even though she's a regular now). It turns out she had a baby on February 1. I am clearly not very observant! 1 Link to comment

I enjoyed this episode, painful as it was with all of the anger and confrontations and bad blood between the characters. But the ending was sad. The truth will come out about Olivia being the impaired driver in that collision. The principal is a dick, and he's stuck in his childhood. Sounds like he was indeed bullied and treated horribly, but it seems like he never dealt with his emotions about it--such as through therapy. And it wasn't Billy's fault that he was sent to boarding school--his parents chose to send him there rather than another school in the Los Angeles area. I agree that Corey is more likely the one who punched him. And he probably blamed it on Billy. He was always jealous/resentful of Billy's popularity. 1 Link to comment
CoppersMom2021 March 16, 2021 Share March 16, 2021 I knew when the song “Collide” started playing when Spence and Olivia were in the car that there would be an accident. And thats on top of her looking at Spence for what felt like a solid minute instead of the road. 2 Link to comment
