gingerella March 5, 2021 Share March 5, 2021 February 26, 2021 "Belgian TV drama series featuring eccentric professor and criminologist Jasper Teerlinc, who is an adviser to the police. Professor T, who teaches at Antwerp University, is an idiosyncratic but brilliant crime investigator who also suffers from OCD and hallucinations. Set in Belgium." The show lasted for three seasons, released in 2015, 2016, and 2018. Small Talk: Wash your hands... S01.E01: Three Oak Campus QUOTE: “A girl is raped on an Antwerp university campus in circumstances identical to an unsolved case from 10 years earlier. Inspector Annelies Donckers calls upon her former criminal psychology professor Jasper Teerlinck to help crack the impossible case. Simultaneously expert and eccentric, his curious methods ruffle a few feathers along the way. In Flemish with English subtitles.” Is anyone else watching Professor T, airing on PBS? I’m finding it very interesting and entertaining. The characters seem to have depth and are quirky, and Professor T is like watching a human brain work. Anyone else watching and if so, what do you think? I, hoping for a season 2. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/116331-professor-t-general-discussion/
Kemper March 6, 2021 Share March 6, 2021 I watched every episode on our PBS station...every Saturday night at 11:00. Probably one of the best series I have ever had the pleasure of "discovering" .... and I don't know quite how to describe it. It was dark in so many ways; also funny in parts (and not for kids). Loved all of the characters - and I always looked forward to the Secretary (or Administrative Assistant)...she was genius. I so wish it had not been canceled; the ending was a shocker, but kind of in tune with the entire series. 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/116331-professor-t-general-discussion/#findComment-6645067

Such a great way to describe this series, it's so difficult to explain and my initial cut and paste did not do it any justice but yours certainly did! I've been taping every episode and I just watched a 2-part that I think was the finale...is it where we see why Jasper is so messed up? Is that the end of the series? I'm so sad to hear it was cancelled because there is so much more that they could explore. And yes, I agree with you, Sneyers is hilarious in how she deals with him. and I loved the relationship between Donckers and John, and of course Flamant. Its just such a stellar cast, and it was refreshing to see a murder mystery series that was not British. According to IMDB, Professor T spanned 2016-2018, and there were 39 episodes in total, and there is no way we've seen 39 episodes on PBS so let's hope there's more to come! I just realized that what we've been seeing on PBS is Season 2, there is a 3rd season that I hope we are shown as well. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/116331-professor-t-general-discussion/#findComment-6728136
Kemper April 18, 2021 Share April 18, 2021 Maybe Netflix or Acorn will show the series and we will get to see the final season. I think the final season. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/116331-professor-t-general-discussion/#findComment-6728345

Back Atcha June 28, 2021 Share June 28, 2021 Season 3 started on my "regular" PBS channel last Sunday: Phoenix, Arizona. Looking forward to it. I'll also try to catch the British and German(?) series too. I have PBS Passport so I'll investigate. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/116331-professor-t-general-discussion/#findComment-6863168

I probably won't watch it. I don't particularly like Ben Miller, and I really much rather they run the last season of the original instead. Kemper July 12, 2021 Share July 12, 2021 I watched the first episode of the British version last night. If I had not seen the original, I would have thought the new version was okay - not something I would probably get too invested in. It doesn't help that the lead, Ben Miller (is that his name?) leaves me cold; always has. I did like the actress who plays the mother. The music in the original was fabulous; this version...not so much. One of the most glaring differences (there were many) was the secretary/administrative assistant. However, it would be hard to beat the actress who played her in the original...the eye rolls, the facial expressions, the wry humor. I missed everyone from the original. However. I did really like the actress who plays the young detective...she, and the actor who plays the detective opposite. her were bright spots. I do like the actress who plays the "head" of the unit ... age appropriate, long dark hair. I will probably watch the other episodes; in spite of the lead actor, not because of him. I'll check on the German edition. I don't think anyone will compare favorably with Koen De Bouw as Professor T. Perhaps the storylines need to be different. 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/116331-professor-t-general-discussion/#findComment-6890340
