ElectricBoogaloo January 22, 2021 Author Share January 22, 2021 Zoey's outfit in the first scene was ridiculous. It was like a mashup of all the worst 90s ravewear in one outfit. It's been 11 months since the previous episode so I don't remember all the details, but Doug and Jazz definitely needed to have a conversation about what exactly this break entailed. That is the fair thing to do so that both of them would know what the parameters were. I'm glad that the random girl hanging out with the guys pointed out that when male athletes need to focus on training for their sport, they expect their girlfriends to be supportive and just wait for them. 4 Link to comment
TVForever January 22, 2021 Share January 22, 2021 I'm trying to decide if I still like this show. I know this is just the first episode back, but it feels all over the place now. Zoey's not in school anymore, and they share an off-campus house, so I guess all we'll get of the college life is the Student Union and the other girls talking about (but not really showing) what they're doing in college. Nomi's back at home raising a baby. Is she just going to be a face on the ipad screen now, with random baby sounds in the background? Why is Aaron still in college? Wasn't he established as a few years older than the others from the beginning? So he's nearing his mid-twenties at this point? What is he doing with his life? Luca mentioned he was going to Italy soon. As far as I'm concerned, he can stay there, but that makes his beautiful girlfriend (whose name I dont't even know) even more pointless to the show. Maybe he'll ask her to go with him. It feels like this show started out as a new version of "A Different World", but went off those rails pretty quickly. Maybe they can all move into an off-campus house together( whole new set, or just pretend the current house is larger than we thought) and be more like "Good Trouble". That way, they can all be young 20-somethings pursuing their individual goals, whether it's college or career, and they can become more of an ensemble show, rather than Zoey-centered. Even Nomi and her baby could potentially fit into that scenario. I'll give it a few more episodes, but right now I'm just not feeling this show so much anymore. 1 Link to comment

All I see is the characters drinking and I am not sure any of them would be old enough to drink yet, maybe Aaron might have just reached that age. This current show now has very little to do with college and campus life, it is more like watching young Stock Market Traders living the good life. I thought Jazz and Sky were supposed to be "broke" and training "non-stop" for the "Olympics?" or "just trying to stay on the track team" or "something". 1 Link to comment

Those kids were being served actual drinks in that campus hangout /bar since freshman year, it seems! I had to learn to let that bit of realism go from the beginning, lol! Link to comment
luckyroll3 January 22, 2021 Share January 22, 2021 Aaron was a senior, and everyone else juniors, last season. I'm never quite sure how the timeline of this show goes since Freeform always does the split seasons thing. I think this is their spring semester, but I'm not sure. Aaron got a job as the dean's assistant and part of that is if he continues to work there after graduating, he'll be able to get his masters for free, or something like that. Link to comment
tennisgurl January 25, 2021 Share January 25, 2021 Its been so long since we saw last season, I kind of forgot what all happened until I looked up a recap. So how long is Zoey going to stay out of college? How is this show's premise going to keep moving if the main character isnt even at school with the rest of the cast? Is Nomi going to be on screens the whole season? I can at least see them keeping Aaron around, maybe he gets a masters degree, but are they planning on just making this more of a "young adults enter the work force" show because most of the cast are going to be seniors soon?
