Replying to @dubbel zout from 2 yrs ago about arranged marriages. 
 

I think there’s a big misconception that arranged marriage is a “forced marriage” it’s not. Everyone I know who had an arranged marriage vetted the person first, and when I think about it, only 1 or 2 people ended up marrying the first person they were introduced to as a candidate. 
 

If I was choosing a partner based on lifestyle, earning potential and temperament, I would trust my Mom to choose for me. It’s when you bring in sexual chemistry and romantic love it’s harder to have other people make suggestions. But most arranged marriages are introductions of people with the intention to find a spouse in the foreseeable future.
