That's more like it.

I'll start this by quoting a refrain I always say about stories in general- if you care about the characters, you care about the story. That sums up what I feel about tonight.

Sure, the writers gave us some good moments- like Luca's issues, the twist the assistant manager of the hotel was actually in on the gangbangers' scheme, and Hicks being asked if he ever actually apologized and meant it (and the line where Hicks and Luca agree they hate smart criminals)- but this one's more on the casting director. The acting is really what made this episode work, because the acting brought the characters to life and made the characters people we actually care about.

Because we all knew how the plots would end...well, except the one with Cyrus. I didn't see that coming although I understand why he did it. In his own words they were just going to "tag him and bag him" so why not take that leap?

Overall, this was pretty good. Next week will air on April Fool's.

As a writer, I always say I love character-driven as opposed to plot driven. You can forgive any ridiculousness in the plot if the characters sell it.

It's so funny that someone said this show wouldn't deal with what they do on SEAL Team, and here they are discussing what happens when someone can no longer kick down doors. With the adrenaline that goes with this kind of lifestyle, I would imagine retiring and doing nothing would be difficult to transition to.

Wait a minute a big city policeman with big guns walk around with a death skull insignia on his helmet? Come on Hondo, I doubt even present day Marines on deployment can wear stuff like that anymore. That is about as likely as Street running from police in a high speed chase going to his first day of work to begin the series.
