jewel21 March 8, 2020 Share March 8, 2020 Quote When Calvin decides to film a local TV commercial for his business, he enlists Dave, Tina and Marty to help, but it doesn't take long for creative differences to arise. Also, Malcolm considers making a grand gesture when his girlfriend, Sofia, is offered her dream job abroad. Airdate: 03/09/2020 Link to comment
jewel21 March 10, 2020 Author Share March 10, 2020 Watching that first take was hilarious. Between Tina 'making love' to the camera and draping herself on Calvin, and Dave being, well Dave, I was dying. Poor Malcolm and Sophia. She seemed nice. Maybe she'll decide Paris isn't for her and come back later on. 4 Link to comment
Harvey March 10, 2020 Share March 10, 2020 I loved Gemma being so into Malcolm's relationship. This kooky side of her is so entertaining like when she wanted to make the Paris job offer go away with a phone call, and those balloons were just hysterical. And I always enjoy these random mentions of the strange life Gemma and Dave lived before they moved to Los Angeles. Calvin did really great with the commercial on his own but it was a little sad to watch him deliver his lines with no one responding to them. I liked the perspective Grover gave to him, and just in general how these two get along. They have so many good scenes together. It shows that Calvin already did a great job raising two sons and he can talk to Grover in just the right way. 5 Link to comment
highway61 March 10, 2020 Share March 10, 2020 So is Beth/Gemma with child? When she was holding that giant purse in front of her, I though that was a giveaway, but then in the later scene with the balloons she was (nearly) back to Caroline-Channing form-fittedness. 1 Link to comment

They're using him less and they also seem to have toned down the precociousness that made him (and many other child actors) so obnoxious. I wanted Malcolm to tell Sophia he loved her AND that she should go to Paris, but maybe he felt like that would be manipulative. 1 Link to comment
ThisOne March 11, 2020 Share March 11, 2020 Can't stop watching the outtakes from the commercial scene on Instagram. Love this dang show. 5 Link to comment
