Let's have some fun.  We all know that we have seen more than enough holiday movies to write our own.  So let's write our own! I'm going to start this off by writing one sentence.  Please copy that sentence and add your own sentence. Then the next person can copy the previous two sentences and add a sentence.  You get the idea.  Run-on sentences are allowed. Feel free to jump in anywhere and there's no rule that says you can't add more sentences later in the story.  Here goes . . .

Holly was a high power executive in a big city, but was originally from a small town called Mistletoe Springs that she hadn't been back to since her father passed four years ago.

While waiting to hear about a big promotion , Holly's mom ask her to come home for Christmas ,when she arrives at her family's Christmas Tree farm Holly's mom tells her that a developer wants to buy the farm and she's leaning towards accepting the offer as its getting to be too hard to run the farm on her own.

Is there a Small Talk room in this section? This is a fun idea!

Holly has a fit and argues that she won't let her mother sell the property, then tearfully storms off to the local diner to get a hot chocolate, where she runs into her first love, the high school boyfriend she abandoned to go to the big city... little does she know that he is now the mayor of Mistletoe Springs and is all in favor of the development that will destroy her family farm to build a luxury hotel and spa!

(sorry I didn't quote the beginning of the story, I'm not finding a way to add it)

Back at the farm, Holly's mother (whose name is Joy) is having second thoughts.  If Holly stays to help her, Joy thinks they can run the farm together as a B&B/wedding venue.   The farm is quaint and just needs some sprucing up, especially the barn, which would be ideal for weddings, dances, etc.

I can’t ruin Christmas for her.’

But just as the words leave Joy's mouth, she realizes Susie, Holly's best friend since they were 4 years old came to the house & overheard the conversation. Joy begs Susie not to tell Holly, but Susie is conflicted, she loves Joy & wants to keep her secret, but thinks Holly has a right to know.

Holly comes back and there's only one thing to do: Joy makes her special hot chocolate (secret ingredient: a generous slug of Kahlua; Holly says, “this is so much better than the hot chocolate at the diner!”) and they bake dozens of cookies for the annual Mistletoe Springs Christmas Cookie Contest – then comes a sudden knock on the door – it's Blandon, Holly's high school sweetheart, with his adorable and never-complaining 8 year old son who's pining for a new mommy (Blandon's wife died, but we never learn what happened to her).

The leave the house and Noah, the tow-headed little scamp, dashes to the old barn.  Holly and Blandon go in and are unable to locate him, until they hear giggling in a giant hay bale in an overhead area.  Holly and Blandon climb the ladder and all three have a great time throwing hay at each other, until they see movement in a far corner of the barn below.  Blandon climbs down and finds a mama cat and litter of kittens.

Holly's cell phone rings: it's her boss, saying that the ad agency's Tiny Hats account has gone viral due to an alert poster on Primetimer, and if Holly can create a winning ad campaign by Christmas day, she'll get the big promotion; otherwise, she's fired. Holly looks out the barn door at the Christmas trees, and at Noah, and at the kittens, and has a wonderful idea - Tiny Hats for people, for pets, and as Christmas Ornaments!

There's a knock on Holly's door; it's Joy.  "I'll call you back, Susie" says Holly as she hangs up.

"Come in, Mom".  Holly puts down and unplugs the curling iron.  "Holly" says Joy "I wanted you to know that Noah found homes for all of the kittens with his friends!  Mama cat is still caring for them in the box we set up in the spare bedroom; once the kittens go to their new homes, I'll have her spayed.    Now, when the three of you skipped back into the house, you were saying something about tiny hats?"
