  1. Her whole manner when she's giving that speech at the banquet is, like, my model for elegant womanhood.
  2. That was not yours, it was a user contribution we all agreed with but NICE TRY DAVE.
  3. Doug and Jamie's was in Harlem, which is in Manhattan (uptown). They also went for brunch with his family before they left for their honeymoon.
  4. Those prices didn't seem astronomical to me; in fact, $2400 for a furnished place that big and nice in Park Slope (a lovely neighbourhood in Brooklyn) was probably below market rate. Since both Jason and Cortney's and Doug and Jamie's places were furnished and seemed like they might be short-term rentals for temporary residents or business travelers or whatever, I'm pretty sure the idea is only to take them for the duration of the "social experiment," and that the show couldn't make anyone give up their apartments (Vaughn kept his place too) because if (when) the "marriages" break up in a month, they'll all need someplace to go back to.
  5. Olivia will be even better as the season goes on. She is really good at remembering everyone's names (once there aren't a million of them) and always stans hard for the female contestants.
  6. Monet seems like a perfectly nice person, but the way she was talking exhausted me too. The quieter Vaughn was, clearly just wanting to be quiet after work and recharge his batteries, the louder she got, with more and more edge in her voice. She sounded like she was running a board meeting instead of just reporting something she read on Facebook. I agree that he's made up his mind not to make this work, but I feel like he's only arrived at the conclusion that they're temperamentally unsuited for each other -- which they clearly are -- in the same way he would if they'd just had a first date together.
  7. ACK, VERY SORRY. I accidentally merged the season premiere thread with the thread created for Monty's post on Episode 2. Forgive the error and continue discussing 0701 here! To get you started: here's Monty's post on 0701.
  8. ACK, VERY SORRY. I accidentally merged the season premiere thread with the thread created for Monty's post on Episode 2. If this thread looks really confusing now, that's why! Forgive the error! Starting a new thread for Episode 0701 now.
