  1. I think it would be a bit ironic if Riker goes next week on Disney night just like how Cody Simpson went on Disney night as both seem to suffer from the same "young fans, but no one else knows him" syndrome.

He should be lucky people like Suzanne, Patti, and Chris scored much lower or else he'd go. I still think he'll be a 7th/6th place type of shocker.

  2. It really isn't harsh at all. There's plenty of ballroom trained girls they could've cast (Anna, Chelsie, Jenna, etc), yet they casted Allison who has barely any ballroom training.

That's like if a math teacher taught Spanish because they learned a little but from Rosetta Stone.

  3. My issue with that is they are sooooo gonna pull the same thing they did with Amy on this same theme night. Interesting how both had contemporary for "memorable year night".

The judges patronize him every week so far and have yet to acknowledge how little dancing he actually does. Say what you want about how they treated Amy but she could actually move and dance way better.

  4. I think Redfoo seemed shocking based on his past famous songs and his stint as a guest judge I don't think they anticipated him going home first. Not to mention, of the 12 celebs, he has the most Twitter followers.

  5. I don't mind when someone has a little dance background or learned a bit of ballroom for a movie role (Brandy, Danica, Mya, etc), but when you've competed in Latin, I draw the line.

I don't care if you competed for 2 months or 2 years, he was obviously training enough to be good enough to compete and even did well in those competitions. No one else has ever been on this show before who competed in a Latin or Ballroom competition.

  6. Allison is a very "on" personality in the sense that her personality has her energy level  turned up 10 notches all the time and her choreo reflects that and that's part of why I can't latch onto her as a pro or a choreographer.

I feel like in addition to Riker's general unknown status, Allison's choreo will result in this season's shocker elimination.

  7. I loved the Disco Salsa tonight, when you get a song like Turn the Beat Around, you have to have disco in it.  And as Salsa choreographer Gustavo Vargas said, Salsa is a mixture of styles, you mix it up and you get Salsa.  Anyway, Len gave Rumer and Val a 9, and gave Nastia's gymnastic Samba an 8.  In another season he wouldn't have approved of the gym routine and might have dropped it further.

In their defense, that Samba was loaded with content and she performed it effortlessly. Yes they included some cool tricks but it didn't distract from the content of that Samba.

On another note, I'm not getting into Noah's "Amy" treatment. That 30 was a total gift score. He still doesn't do a lot of actual dancing and for Julianne and Bruno to give both Rumer and Noah an 8 shows the farce in that system.

  8. The tease of the Big A reveal was such a letdown.

All we got was some random name and an unexplained home movie. I mean it's season 5, at least give us something we can chew on instead of another piece of a puzzle that we have no idea on.

Andrew being Charles makes sense but they need to go in depth as to how it connects to everything.

I am happy Mona is alive. Janel Parrish does great in this role and it's a great character.

  9. The only 2 times I honestly believe Derek was planning on being out was season 16 and this one.

He mentioned that after All Stars he planned on going on a break and that once he heard he might be paired with Kellie, he wanted in. With this season, I don't think season 20 entered his mind until he had heard they might have had a NY based partner for him and adding that it was the anniversary season he wanted to do it.

Any other "will or or won't he" speculation in any other season was just that; speculation.

  10. Amy set a very high bar for amputees and she had real dance skill and has both of her knees which is so crucial to dancing.

With Noah's arm and leg amputations, it's going to be hard for him and I can't see him pulling off an actual decently danced routine because of the physical challenges. I hope the Afterbuzz crew along with the judges don't continue to pass on  his dance and just give him credit points for his physical challenges.

  11. I think a lot of those views were due to popular blogs and news media sharing that video in general because of the Carlton. I doubt as many would've seeked it out specifically on Youtube had it not been mass shared on social media and blogs.

  12. Funny enough Derek's first dance with Shawn in All Stars was a Foxtrot that also seemed a bit fast and frenetic due to a faster song and it was their only "so/so" dance that season so I think Nastia will progress and produce many fantastic routines. With her ballet background, I can't wait to see her Rumba, Waltz, and Contemporary routines.

  13.

Noah and the Stud Muffin t-shirt?  Oh yes. That's quite accurate. Yummy. And you can definitely see the difference between Amy Purdy, who had bendable joints in both knees, and Noah, who does not.  How can you not root for him?  Also hoping that Michael Sam lasts. Peta has good luck with her football boys, doesn't she?

Well, if the dancing doesn't match his inspiration or personality, I wouldn't exactly be rooting him to win. I, for one, am not gonna throw him votes just because of his situation, which i'm sure is exactly the opposite of what he'd want.

  14. Rumer and Nastia are in it to win it. The other's are basically competing for 2nd and 3rd place, IMO.

Nastia's skills and Derek's choreo are gonna be a marvel to watch this season and I can't wait to see what else Rumor can do.

Despite her age, I think Willow is someone who's gonna drastically improve each week.

Noah's situation is tricky. You don't wanna see too harsh saying it wasn't good but you don't wanna overpraise him in a patronizing way. Unfortunately for him, I don't see him getting into the Top 3 like Amy did.

  15. Finally! A worthy CA winner!

Leeza deserved it for being a great leader and being so poised and smart the whole way through without making any enemies.

Geraldo was a great money raiser but failed almost all the other aspects. Even saying that, she killed him in fundraising on the final task and beat him overall and that final task is sometimes where it counts. Like a final exam in school, that final task shows what you learned and if you have the chops to handle all of what entails it.
