When I first saw this on FB several nights ago I really hoped it was one of those fake click bait stories, but I came here to check it out and found it to be true. I wanted so much to post, but had both too much to say and also no words.
I recently turned 70 and have felt surrounded by death ever since. Three friends have lost husbands—2 cancer deaths and one sudden heart attack. Then one of my favorite people from decades ago in law school went for spinal surgery and ended up dying of sepsis. She was a brilliant lawyer and one of the best people I have ever known.
back to Garrison— I am so haunted by his scenes in the last season which seems both recent and long ago. I had hoped that maybe he and his dad were working things out. In his speech about not needing a father figure he seemed to be trying to convince himself as much, if not more, than anyone else. It was whistling in the dark.
I ache for the Brown family. I lost a cousin to suicide 30 years ago, and it leaves a big hole in the hearts of the survivors. For years after I would get sudden flashes of anger about it. I have pictures I treasure of her with my daughter. When our first grandson was born a few years ago, it just made me so sad they would never know each otherLike most of you I have watched this family for ages, but I have wondered more and more about the decision to include children. I really enjoyed watching the show about the Alabama family with sextuplets, but I was relieved that they decided against further filming. They occasionally post pix on FB. I have no clue how the Browns will decide about going forward. I am concerned about all the children and how it may impact them. I cannot imagine how hard it is for Gabe.

at what point did Robyn make Kody make the solemn vow not to string her along if things got bad with their relationship?

Yikes!! I nearly missed all this. Had no idea there was something more after the Tell almost nothing. Drat, I wish I had it on while I mindlessly polished 100+ pieces of silver and finished wrapping. The last 4 presents got tossed into gift bags.
Can’t wait to see it. I cannot imagine another season with these people. A 2 hour update special might be interesting next year especially if the adult children are included. I set the dvr to record the ones tonight, but have no clue when I will have time to watch.

Kody goes on and on how Christine is trash talking him. Dude, Christine is telling the truth about what happened. We've watched it for years. Christine is justified. Kody wants to shut her down any way he can. Yet, he's the one accusing her and trash talking her every second. What a hypocrite.
The kids lived it. Lived through it. Then see Kody lie about it on the show for years.
Christine is sharing a bit more about what her sex life with Kody was like. He didn't kiss her even during sex. Made her feel inadequate. Ridiculed her even when intimate. She shouldn't have put up with that for years. She didn't deserve that. No wonder Kody is worried. The whole truth is starting to come to the surface.
Yikes!!! Poor Christine.
I haven’t had a chance to watch this all the way through, but every time I see Kody he looks paunchy so where are the abs that Janelle wants him for ???-

That was, I believe, the episode where there was the reference to “the pink elephant” in the room.

I don’t think Kody wants another wife or any more children. I think he does want to make $$$$$$$ to support Robyn’s buying habits. I think based on all the stuff he had at Christine’s he is a spendy fella himself. Also he is much more enamored of Robyn than she is of him.

This last episode is causing me to recall why Janelle is my least favourite of the originals despite the fact that I am enjoying her dumping Kody.
We all know that Janelle was married to Meri’s brother before her “spiritual marriage” to Kody. She even mentioned it very briefly in another season. Now she has the gall to sit on the couch and proclaim she was a family friend. Talk about lying by omission. I can see why it was not mentioned in early seasons because I think it would probably have repulsed many viewers. It still creeps me out. Also I think there was a lot of pressure from Bonnie for Meri to accept Janelle as #2 and Janelle’s mom probably pushed it too. I think Bonnie probably really liked Janelle as a DIL so it would make sense from her point of view to encourage it. And Kody needed no encouragement.
Janelle mentioned utopian polygamy. If we get a new season, I want an episode where she has to binge watch “Escaping Polygamy.” I nearly threw my wine glass at the tv when she started promoting making it legal to protect the wives.

@General Days i don’t know how much Janelle has contributed, but she donated an inheritance to help pay for the Lehi house, and she and Kody said they cashed in their retirement accounts to fund the move to Vegas. I agree buying the RV was a bad idea.
somehow the title for this episode must refer to the dinner a few seasons back where someone mentioned the “pink elephant” in the room. I am too sleepy to try to figure it out.-

It probably is her place in the birth order, but I think she might be a “lost child” without some manipulation. I am almost certain she was the girl who decided she could ride the horse at her grandfather’s ranch when the group was told not to ride him.

This has always bothered me about her. She mentioned earlier this season about being open to another polygamous marriage. I think she is afraid to stop believing in polygamy because she would have to admit kody was committing adultery with her. I think Bonnie may have encouraged Meri to accept Janelle as #2. Maybe spiritual bigamy

I’ve watched a lot of seasons of this show, and I have always wondered why the navigator sits behind the driver instead of next to the driver. It would drive me nuts.

I wonder, would he be "Opa" to all his grandkids, then? Does a polygamist Grandfather gets called the same thing by all his grandchildren like usually happens (I think) in monogamist families, with the first name he gets called usually sticking? Or is Kody gonna be called something different by each of his wive's broods?
So far the only grandkids have come from Maddie and Mykelti, right? Hmm. I dont remember the last time I saw him with Madison's kids. I wonder if they even know him well enough to call him anything at all.
I recall Christine adopting “Oma” when Maddie had her first. Actually, I mostly recall it when she was in NC for the birth of the second child. I think Kody flew in for 5 minutes then flew back to Arizona.
My mother was called GrandMaMa. Sort of a blend of the one on Bewitched and the one in the Addams family.
At the moment we are Grandma and Grandpa to our only grandson.-

Don't they use training wheels any more? When my kids were learning, that is what we used to help them learn balance. Once comfortable with the 2 little wheels, we removed one and they learned how to compensate and then took off the second one. I also think she should have a smaller/low rider type bike to start with not such a tall one.
I think getting training wheels is a better idea than an adult trike bike.
she won’t learn much from a tryke. The steering is different and the seated position is also different. It is wider and might not fit well on bike paths. Plus if you try to go fast on it, it can tend to tip on turns. I learned this from watching Mr TWoPper ride one that his sister in law got one Christmas.-

Every time Janelle mentions Kody and reconciliation/therapy/counselling etc I want to see someone sit her down in front of the tv and make her watch that awful episode where Christine and Kody go to Corpus with their therapist. I think she is Nancy. I want her to watch it over and over until she realises that if she and Kody did that same exercise with the rocks she would get the same results as as Christine. That episode may have been where I started to detest Kody.
