I have watched both seasons of The Vow, and Kody reminds me a little of Keith Ranere. He also likes to inflict mental pain with his mean remarks

I can’t stand Robyn and Kody, but I think they gave those 2 kids the best Halloween they could based on their Covid rules. There was no way that they were going to drive them to a neighborhood in flagstaff for trick or treating and let them get exposed to Covid germs from strangers. There seem to be no houses anywhere near their house. I think the kids had fun with it.
I cannot believe I said something somewhat nice about Robyn. I will show myself out….-

Also as Roslyn pointed out, he usually wasn’t there for Christine’s kids anyways. On hindsight, I suspect he spent most of his time with Meri, enjoying some peace and quiet time.
Aspyn tucked in her siblings. Not sure about Janelle’s.

I doubt she would have moved from flagstaff during Savannah’s senior year. Having family events in Flagstaff would be awkward since the Kody Robyn family is also there. I think it is great Logan and Michelle are hosting them. Paedon was there recently so he may fit in better with janelle’s boys better than with his 5 sisters especially since he and Gwen seem somewhat estranged

Oh, good grief. He and Meri divorced. So this is his second divorce even if Meri thinks she is still married to him.
poor Gabe. So awful. Gwen has a birthday close to Gabe. I wonder if he remembered hers. I know there are lots of dates to remember in that family so you would think they would have a calendar with all the dates written down and they could check it each morning.

The only job I recall her mentioning was title clerk at a car dealership. She was working there when Kody proposed.

I think I am going to watch season 1 again. It is giving me some whiplash. It is interesting that the whole family gathered several times a week to have dinner together which worked because they were all in the same house. Also the kids all played together in the same yard. Kody looked pissed when Meri mentioned jealousy issues over Robyn. It was nice that’s kody tells everyone goodnight

I just wanted to say that I don’t think any of the originals will do polygamy. I used to think Kody and Robyn would encourage it, but they may be dissuaded by Kody’s rants on tv.-

Well, I don’t think Christine is on a fast track toward canonization, but I would watch a 2 hour follow up show if Janelle bolts.
I thought Christine was doing Lularoe, but maybe she quit I am appalled she is giving it to Truly. Do they get that much free product to give it to all their children? It is expensive. At least Meri isn’t doing health drinks as far as I know.-

I would guess a lot of smaller things added up to the great resentment. What they ended up with when Robyn’s family joined up was a blended family which was made more complicated by polygamy. If I were an “original” wife, I would have turned against her when she did the picture of kody with her kids as though they were their kids together. She seemed to butt in a lot instead of deferring to the originals.

I think she comes from a large family, but I don’t have a clue as to how much time she spends with them. I think one of the sisters died. One of the brothers was at the inn once.

While I can see why Janelle would think this is a clever fix, once she gets a site plan and a building permit the boundaries of her lot will be tied to her loan and won't be able to be redrawn. Kody would be limited to moving the boundaries on either side, but won't be able to touch hers.
The way that Kody wants to do it, kinda like the Vegas cul-de-sac was built is to build all 5 houses at the same time. However, he would have to have a whole lot of cash up front to get the ball rolling. Paid off property, altered boundary lines that are registered and accepted by the county, a full site plan of the whole 14 acres and all permits in place and THEN the electric$$$ could come in. They won't run electric until they know where everything is going, driveways, houses, septic, gas lines, water lines etc etc.
Every single thing that is put under the ground or on the ground will have rules of how far away it needs to be from everything else. Two houses sitting side by side can't have septic systems side by side. They will have rules for how close anything can go up against the property boundaries, the drainage pond, the gas road easement, the gas pipeline. AND...the property has a big ol flood plain cutting straight through the middle...which is why the "pond" is there in the first place. If you look at the google earth photos you can see where the water runs through.
I didn’t realize it was in a flood plane. Add flood insurance costs to their expenses, but I would bet they never build.

It makes no sense that Kody is still insisting on subdividing into 5 lots - isn't that is what is holding up paying it off or construction?? As another poster pointed out, Janelle made sure the location she picked would be in her designated lot whether it was 4 or 5, and Kody shrugged it off. Kody is settled in the Mansion on the hill and has no intention to build, as he keeps shooting down any suggestion by Janelle. And his insistence on 5 is probably for Robyn's children - then they can remain in the mansion and the kids will be close by - a Brown compound.
Oh and the fact that Robyn did not just buy the Mansion with money from Janelle AND Meri - but she also bought 2 lots next to the mansion - Janelle has nothing and Robyn has a mansion with 2 spare lots.
Janelle seems to have stopped holding back and is slowly realizing that Kody does not care about her. I so hope she got a lawyer and figured out stuff. She is not a legal wife but she has given so much money to the family over the years. She should do her own taxes and make Kody and Robyn figure out their mess. I can't even fathom how complicated it is.
I have no idea what Robyn meant, and I doubt she does either. She just said it to be dramatic. She may think watching the family break up will discourage her children and their descendants from the polygamous life.
Doing laundry today I thought of Robyn and Janelle as I sorted lint givers from lint receivers, although in their case it is money givers from receivers. Janelle gave her inheritance for the down payment on the Lehi house, she cashed in her retirement account to help fund the rental houses in LV, and then she gave half of the proceeds from her LV house to Robyn. It sounds like Meri gave all of her proceeds to Robyn. I hope Janelle has realized how much if a sucker she has been and how she only has an RV to show for it. I hope she and Christine can write another book and spill the dirt on life with Robyn. I cannot imagine they could carry a season by themselves, but a 2 hour update would be nice. I think Mykelti is itching to be back on tv

Sol had the advantage—-at least pre-Covid—- of a lot more interaction with his half sibs. Truly was older, but still close enough to bond with him and Gwen and Ysabel were still at home. He didn’t have the bonding experience that the older original kids got in Lehi, but he got more than his younger sister.
