  1. The bad:

    1. Brienne and Jamie sleeping together

    2. Rhagel dying

    3. Jon telling his sisters

    4. Them not showing us tell his sisters

    5. Drogon not setting fire to the ships after his brother was killed

    6. Drogon not responding to missendei’s dracarys and burning stuff

    7. Varys turning on Dany

    8. Arya not realizing she can still be with Gendy even if she’s not a lady

    The good:

    1. It’s game of thrones

  2. Deb is very lucky John didn’t kill her. Agreed it doesn’t make sense that she went home to confront him — that was dangerous and not necessary.

I’m guessing John has narcissistic personality disorder. Scary that there’s so many men out there with it conning people. It seems like John didn’t hide it as well as others and there were definitely red flags right at the beginning.

It’s making me think of Chris Watts — wonder what warning signs he showed Shannan.

The Henry Rollins video Liar does such a great job showing what these people are especially the part where he’s apologizing

if you'll give me one more chance

just give me one more chance
I will never lie to you again
    I swear
that I will never tell a lie

I went back to try to count the teeth in the dollhouse, it's pretty blurry. Maybe the right amount of incisors/canines in the border, maybe too many molars. What I also noticed though it that the floor is not finished. The teeth are on a white background with a bit of a pattern, so it's hard to tell, but the center portion of molars is only about 2/3 covered and the border of canine/incisors less than half. Unless I am seeing it wrong, it is very blurry, and part of it is also covered by Camille's hand.

I am thinking about this way too much.

Are there any screen grabs of the teeth on the floor?

  4. Did Adora poison the food or was Camille faking being sick so that Adora would focus on her and not Amma? I’m thinking the latter.

The show did a great job of keeping the tension going in St Louis when all seemed well. I definitely knew something else was coming with Amma.

What was the significance of Camille noticing how Ammas new friend was eating — didn’t really get that. But it definitely seemed like Amma had killed the new friend.

  5. Meh — wasn’t feeling this episode at all. It’s veered into extreme disbelief to prolong the show and that’s bad storytelling.

No way would Serena just let June take the baby!!! She just wouldn’t based on everything we’ve learned about her character.

It’s also insane that June would not leave. No way and makes zero sense. Her baby needs milk and Emily can’t give her that. Also she could leave and reunite with Luke and fight Gilead from Canada to get Hannah back. We still have Janine and other characters in Gilead to check back in.

I might be done with this show because they’ve made plot decisions that goes against the integrity of the characters.

It flew into the water, frame and all - those were sound effects of glass breaking added on for drama.

MMdoesV. I see warning signs in skeevy Lincoln, slimy Garrett, sly Colton, and entitled ragey Chris. And I didn't see any warning signs in many of the nice fellows she sent home more or less untouched. So her taste sucks, in my view.

Why do you think Garrett is slimy? I don’t get that vibe from him. Blake is my favorite and will be the next Bachelor.

For the life of me, I can't figure out what's missing from this season. On paper, I should be enjoying it as much as the first one, but so far, it just feels like the pacing is too...fast. And somehow, that's boring?  There used to be masterful use of silences and non-violence, to build tension. Now it seems like the opposite is true -- a LOT of talking and violence is making me ambivalent.  I hope it changes, for my sake. I might be in the minority, though...

I’m not feeling it either and it’s really confusing.

WHo was the guy in the beginning? Looked like Bill Skarsgard but didn’t see his name anywhere.

I loved this show last season but am not enjoying this season at all. It’s way too complicated and I can’t  figure out what’s going on.

  8. I’m completely confused about who Gus Fring was. Is Ed Harris timeline right after the hosts revolted? Who were the guys hanging the other guy upside down? If they were hosts why were they still playing characters if the hosts can no longer be controlled.

  9. In looking at pictures of Margaret I’m shocked by how much she aged in her 30s. She went from very fresh-faced to old looking practically overnight. I’m sure the smoking was a contributing factor and her hairstyle and dress were so matronly. It’s odd to think that was ever fashionable since it’s so unflattering. But I guess the same can be said for the ultra thin eyebrows of the late 90s. Just bad!

I agree, the whole thing seemed stupid and out of character.  It didn't even make sense.  "I'm depressed, socially awkward, fighting with my husband and drugged and that's why I said rude things about you at a party."  Right after they tell us six different ways that she's incredibly clever, outgoing, smart, worldly and charming.

Paired with Dexter F. Kennedy, I felt like these were alternate universe representations of the Kennedys.

Lol Dexter F. Kennedy! I saw Six Feet Under first so he’ll be David to me before Dexter. Truth be told after only a few episodes of Dexter I only saw Dexter so Michael C. Hall is a great actor. Not sure what happened here.

I doubt there are "videos" of the event. That was back in the '50s.  Camera were the most portable media at the time. I also doubt reporters even had recording devices for this sort of thing. They took notes and fleshed them out back at the office.  Film cameras couldn't be used for on-the-fly events because they were so big and bulky and cumbersome to set up and/or move around.  They were for scheduled events where they could be set up in advance ... with the best possible positioning to capture the important events.

What was shown was a reporter who was at the event, take note of a very brief act by Margaret and spend some time wondering why he found it note-worthy. Once he figured it out he alerted his boss who gave him permission to dig and see if he was on to something.

The coronation was recorded though — are you saying they didn’t film certain parts of it?

  12. A few thoughts..

    - why weren’t they more accurate with Jackie’s Hair and be dress — I don’t get why they’d change it.

    - i wonder how Margaret felt about not being invited to the dinner. I read that Jackie specifically requested that Margaret be there but QE didn’t allow it.

    - What motivated QE to go to Ghana and was it really against the advice for her advisors?

    - I’m still not clear on what QE realized when she said it was intentional that Jackie did not change her clothes.

Amazing though was finding out when they were finished filming that shot it was already the end of the day because child actors can only work 10 hour days they left so  the shot of Eleven seeing Mike had to be filmed the next day. Millie then told them put just different color tape where each of the other characters were for her eyeline and she could act to that. The filmmakers were skeptical but she was confident she could do it and she NAILED IT. It's incredible. Then the next day they realized they had to do another closeup of Mike's reaction so Finn asked to see footage of  what Millie did so he could base his performance on that. I synched up this video to where she talks about it:

This video starts at the beginning. Where in it does she talk about this?

I rewatched the Mike/Eleven scene 10 times and am crying. It was just incredible. Such amazing actors to make you feel raw emotion.

  14. The Nancy and Jonathan kiss was so hot -- I seriously watched it ten times. Their chemistry is off the charts. I do love Steve though and that's what makes this show so great. The characters are nuanced and it's not black or white.

I'm now googling pics of Natalia and Charlie.

  15. I wanted Rhagerian to save jon from the ice. I honestly thought that was going to happen and would have been an improvement on what actually happened. It's one more reminder that Jon is a Targarean and Rhaegarian could have warmed Jon up.

Did Jon not get on Drogon because of what Thoros said about him needing to kill the night king? He's so impulsive and doesn't think things through.

Why did Dany pull her hand away from Jon? My immediate thought was of Back to the Future when Marty and Lorraine kiss and it doesn't feel right since he's her son. More likely the chemistry was too strong for Dany and she pulled away.

Agree with others that the Arya/Sansa storyline is annoying. These girls learned so much over the years and you'd think they should know better but their issues make them blind. Kind of realistic if you think about it which is why it's not very satisfying.

On another note. People do realize Dragon glass /obsidian is a stone and not a metal. You don't forge it. And Gendry would be useless.

Tormund would have a better idea what to do.

Wouldn't they need to attach the dragon glass to metal?

Dany's claim comes from being Viserys's heir. Viserys was crowned King on Dragonstone prior to them fleeing to Essos.

Jon's claim would be that he is Rhaegar's trueborn son.

Whose claim is stronger depends on who you ask.  Look back at the war of the 5 kings and who was supporting Renly and Stannis.

Interesting I didn't know that Viserys was crowned. Was that in the show or just the books?

He is Rhaegar's heir. Rhaegar became king when Aerys died, so Jon would have a claim. Daenerys also has a claim, though, so I don't think it's clear cut.

That would be like Prince Andrew inheriting over Prince William. The line of succession would be like you said Rhaegar's heir.
