I am surprise that in all these years, someone hasn't gotten seriously hurt.

Gia did die by suicide. Or are you referring to someone actually getting hurt while on the show?

Shes finished and washed up, this is why she is sad

How is she finished and washed up? She just won DWTS and has 2.5 million Instagram followers — the most of anyone in Bachelor Nation. She can make a ton of money just doing sponsored ads. I’d give anything to be that washed up!!!

  3. Can someone explain the twist in this episode. I guess I was only half watching it. Don’t feel like rewatching.

i don’t like the Love character. Becks was a stronger character and actress so already I’m not too invested in this season.

I think the biggest mistake was forcing the new cast too soon.

They should have finished up the sixties with Foy and ensemble, and then NEXT year gone into the seventies.

The Queen was about 38 when this season began.  I'm guessing/estimating 1964?  They fudged around with the dates of things so much this season that I'm honestly confused.  Foy is 35.  Margaret's scandalous photos were published in 1976.  At that point the Queen was 50, and Colman playing her makes more sense.

Ending with Charles'  investiture makes sense.  The Queen was 43 in 1969, well in range for Foy to play, with that horrible hat and just a bit of padding/makeup.   I'm sure there were plenty of other beats to play from the sixties.  The Moon Landing was in 1969 as well, so Menzies wouldn't get "his" episode though.

Honestly, much of this season seemed to simply cater to making sure "BIGGER STARS!" got screen time.

Do princess Anne's wedding and kidnapping next season with Colman.  I'm shocked that they skipped over that in what feels like a mad rush forward.

I applaud actresses aging naturally, I'm completely for that, so this is no insult at all to Colman, but although she's 45 IRL, she looks every bit of that, and also "reads" older, partly perhaps because she's rarely ever smiled in season 3, and had all of those frown lines constantly on display which easily made her look as if she were in her mid fifties.

Hopefully next season will be better.

    Completely agree with this!

My guess?  Because HBC is a big star, and they gave episodes to the BIG STARS this season.

Feels like a total miss especially because Anne was fantastic. They could have done Margaret’s divorce next season.

I miss Claire Foy and especially Vanessa Kirby.

I keep coming back here to see  more replies because this show is SO underrated. I could get into it all, but I agree with pretty much everything stated above. I really hope we get another season of this because I want to know what happens! But, I can see where this would be perfect as a one off.

Why isn’t this being talked about more!!! Just finished it and it’s so thought provoking.

we can all identify with it because we all have a best version of ourselves and a worst version and fight that ALL. THE. TIME. And the best version is annoyed at the worst version that they’re not seeing themselves clearly.

it almost felt like watching the same person in a depression and not in a depression. I feel like it’s helpful in understanding depression and mental illness. Like it makes you just a completely different person that Paul Rudd played so perfectly.

Really loved it! Fantastic. Glad I got to discover Aisling who was perfect as Kate.

I agree with you, and while I'm sure this is an unpopular opinion, I really don't care for HBC in the role either.

Full disclosure: I've never really been a fan of Helena Bonham Carter, but aside from that, HBC's just way too old for the role, at least at this point. Princess Margaret was only 35 at the time of her visit to D.C.  HBC is 53 and IMO looks her age. Also, this may sound shallow, but it's also the truth: Part of Margaret's charm was her beauty. Just my opinion, but HBC, neither now nor when she was 35, is enough of a beauty to effectively portray Margaret's charms. And, like a few others, I think her performance is OTT.

More than any of the other actors, the one I miss the most is Vanessa Kirby. I definitely wasn't expecting that to be the case.

I agree and really miss Vanessa Kirby. This episode especially really made me wish they kept the other cast for season 3.

This ruined it for me. I couldn't believe that the show just forgot about Lori. We don't get to see ANYONE learn of her death -- even Eileen, who obviously would have been the first to hear because of the credit card? That means Mike's death was given more time/attention than Lori's, and that makes no sense given their relative centrality to the series.

Completely agree with you!! I kept waiting for the finale to acknowledge it and when I knew they weren’t it was a very WTF moment. Very disappointed in that.

  9. I feel like Mischa isn’t doing much on this show. Maybe because she’s matured and they only give you a storyline if you bring drama.

Stephanie is really awful and clearly doesn’t care about making anyone uncomfortable.

I always liked Jason and am definitely routing for him. Also like Brandon a lot. Hope he gets something out of doing this show.

  10. Can someone explain to me what was going on when Fez?

This episode was super intense and at times hard to follow.

    Some first thoughts...

At first I thought they jumped way ahead to see Jules hugging Maddy at the dance and Cassie no longer in love with McKay. We’ve never seen Maddy friends with Rue or Jules before so I honestly thought some major Big Little Lies type event happened for them to be friends.

This show is just incredible. Don’t get why it’s not much more popular and talked about.

The end totally confused me. Was Rue snorting the lie supposed to happen after leaving the train station? I don’t think so but not certain.

Rue not going with Jules was a major step forward in her recovery so I don’t see her relapsing immediately following.

    Need more time to digest.

Well they fucked that up, Leo was wearing a knight costume for that scene. I remember it from seeing it in theaters when it came out.

Loved that and the pool scene and other call outs from Romeo and Juliet. Another movie that came out when I was in high school, along with true romance. I find it odd they are referencing movies from early 90s but someone already pointed out these are cult classics.

Don't get why rue was in a suit and not the armor.

McKay is "wrong" for how he treats Cassie. yet nothing is mentioned about how Cassie has been unfaithful to McKay at multiple times during their "relationship."

    Good point.

I liked how they didn’t write the guy Cassie hooked up to be a rapist. A guy can still be a total asshole but not a rapist. It feels like most shows would have the asshole guy also be a rapist (I.e. the guy from 13 reasons why comes to mind).

REALLY subtle music clue with "Smalltown Boy" by Bronksi Beat, show. I have a sudden urge to wave my rainbow flag now.

Thanks for sharing. I’m 40 but never heard this song before. It’s awesome!

And yet their Halloween costumes were from “True Romance” (a 26 year old movie) and another girl was Jodie Foster in “Taxi Driver” (an over 40 year old movie).  I know these are cult movies with fans of all ages, but come on.

I had no idea true romance was popular with high school kids today. I loved that movie when it came out when I was in high school!

i absolutely love this show. The music is phenomenal and really sets the tone. There’s just a great energy to euphoria even though the material is very heavy. I find myself rewatching the episodes multiple times.

im genuinely interested in all is the main characters and the supporting ones.

  14. I struggle with Nate and Maddie. I just get an American Psycho vibe from Nate and see him wanting to be with a blonde, very peppy girl like the Reese Witherspoon character.

    I’m really enjoying this show.

I’m embarrassed to admit that I didn’t know Jules was trans until I read a review. I saw the bulge in her panty but thought it was just the tv screen or something. I thought the injections were some kind of drug to get high.

Does any one know if the actress who plays Jules is really trans? She’s good.

I had no clue. The bruises on her hip were shown immediately after she fell off her bike. Thought it was from that.
