  1. According to Lulu and Lala on their podcast last week, KF was setting in. Arun was a jerk today. There was nothing wrong with how Natalia was breaking those plates.
  2. Even though Kim and Penn are my faves and Ryan and Dusty threaten them, I’m happy they aren’t going home. Final three better be those 2 teams and the FAs. I can be happy with any of those 3 winning.
  3. I still can’t fathom how the cops took a known drug addict seriously who walked in and said they had a dream that the participated in a murder. I once had a dream that I married Luke Skywalker. That doesn’t mean that actually happened. Even though Dusty is annoying, I’ll be upset if he goes before Arun and Natalia.
  4. Kind of wild to think during the time the race was in limbo Ryan became a millionaire. Deservedly so. I hadn’t heard of him prior to this season. I can’t understand how that prosecutor hasn’t been disbarred. Withholding evidence is a huge no no.
  5. They didn’t mention if they had souvlaki sent to them but they did say they both have the palettes of children. On said a 12 yo and the other said a 6 yo.
  6. That’s actually not true according to Lulu and Lala. Penn was the only one who got it right the first time. Also, if you watched the timers during the speech, the Natalia came in within 2 minutes of the spiel, which means Ryan had to listen again after he tried to leave. That means both he and Cayla missed a quiz unless they listened twice without taking the quiz. It was editing that made it appear that they were getting it correct. Lulu and Lala has a YouTube video up going over everything that went wrong. They also saw Kim and Penn at the pit stop and saw the FA going to the pit stop when they were going back to find Momos. They were very far behind. The extra videos are very informative and I love the extra mat talks with Phil.
  7. I also do not like raw onions and always ask that they not be included or I pick them off. Cooked are fine and onion rings are delicious. I think the raw is just too strong for my taste. Dusty is becoming annoying, but I don’t hate him. Ryan is fine usually. I actually don’t hate anyone. Penn and Kim had Sheri and Akbar on their Tuesday podcast, not the race recap one. They talked about Akbar’s school. It was heartbreaking. He talked about how several students have been murdered. He and Sheri are doing good things to try to help these kids. They put washing machines and dryers in the school so kids can wash their clothes after Akbar realized that some students were skipping school because they had dirty underwear. Detergent is provided.
  8. Ryan and Dusty did wait for Penn and Kim. They got separated at an exit when Ryan and Dusty couldn’t get over. This also was on the podcast. I believe the point about them being athletes is more about the competitive attitude and how they interact with each other. That attitude doesn’t go away just because you are no longer competing. Also, Sheri probably heard worse from her coaches than she does from Akbar and she likely couldn’t talk back like she does to Akbar. I know it’s off putting, but I think it bothers the viewers more than it bothers Sheri.
  9. I forgot to mention, Penn stated that one of the reasons he got so emotional was because Kim pretty much disappeared from sight after a certain point. At that point he just wanted her back up there with him.
  10. I’m listening to the Holdeness’ podcast and they said the clue explicitly stated they had to carry everything in the hands and arms. They were not even allowed to rest anything on their fannypacks. They also said they reason they got lost was because Kim was navigating and was still effected by the jump (though not as bad as later when they got to their room at the pit stop). She took them in the wrong direction. Penn realized it, but also knew that she was not in a head space for him to correct her so he kept going. They weren’t lost that long. They also had most of the other racers on later to talk about the bungee jump as well as Sam, Connie and their baby.
  11. Yeah, Penn got emotional thinking about how much he loves his wife, how proud of her he was and how horrible it would be if she wasn’t around. I’d rather men be like Penn than like the frontier men who would beat their wives without penalty because their wives were property. I think his comment about the Race not wanting Kim to die was for both of them. Unless Akbar played point in college, he’s likely well over 6 ft. So is Penn, but Penn is pretty thin. The weight limit is 115 kg which is about 253 lbs (I looked it up). I could see how Akbar would be over and Penn under.
  12. Kim mentioned in one of her blog posts that she would jog with a 9 lb weight on her back to prepare for the race. She also had them go to a trainer. I believe Kim said they had at least 6 weeks.
  13. I walk 4 miles a day on an incline and stairs still do me in.
  14. I would be a cross between Kim and Sherri doing this. Probably closer to Sheri
  15. Not gonna lie, Penn tearing up at the thought of losing Kim has me teary eyed.
  16. While trying to see if there was another preview for tonight’s episode I came across Lulu and Lala’s podcast. They had the husbands on. The husbands said they had to do the Scottish dance about 4 or 5 times while Lulu/Lala said they did it about 15-20 times before they were given the clue. Didn’t the editing make it appear that they got through it rather quickly?
  17. Kim mentioned also something about using time to estimate distance. In last weeks episode you can see her holding a compass with the map and she says something about 10 minutes. Kim is a planner.
  18. I’m pretty sure she has that accent, though it’s exaggerated for this videos. They had some bloopers once, or maybe it was just talking a bit and you could hear it. I love those Midwest neighbor skits!
  19. Kim mentioned in the latest podcast that the teams had some down time in Scotland while TAR worked to get them back to the US. They exchanged numbers and kept in touch during the break. She believes that the teams are closer this season because of this during the race. In the past, that only seemed to happen after they were eliminated as you don’t have much time to get to know each other while racing.
  20. I exercise 5 days a week and am relatively healthy. We vacationed in Colorado this summer and stayed at an elevation of over 11,000 feet. I usually hydrate well but didn’t during travel to avoid using the bathroom on the plane. Until I got rehydrated, I had a headache and felt out of sorts. Others would get out of breath.
  21. I finished Kim and Penn’s podcast and they mentioned that there was a speed bump the returning teams had to complete after they did the detour. That may be why both of those teams went in a different direction. I also watched some more of the extra clips and Penn/Kim and the all girl teams all commented on how worried they were for Sheri while talking to Phil. Ryan and Dusty may have as well, I don’t really recall. Mike and Moe dropped part of the detour clue and didn’t realize it until they were driving. It didn’t look like they went back for it.
  22. Ok, I screwed up the quote above but hopefully everyone can read it. I’m guessing the lure of a million was too big to pass up, so they tried. It would have been fascinating to watch and I’m disappointed we didn’t get to see it.
  23. Penn and Kim’s recap just dropped and while I haven’t listened yet, they did have a brief post with it. Caro and Ray intended to return but Caro was having visa issues as she’s not a US citizen. Also Taylor and Isaiah were actually there to restart the race when they got the call that Taylor’s brother had died. ETA - they have Mike and Moe on the podcast if you care to listen.
  24. I have Paramount+ and there are a lot of extra videos on there. It sounds like there was nothing that said Akbar was too big to do it, that was a Sherri assumption. Akbar was then upset with himself because he let Sherri do it when he saw that she was struggling. I think it was part not liking to see her struggle and being last. He mentioned that she was starting to get anxious on the ride up. However, Sherri was happy that she did it and proud of herself. Of course this was after she knew they weren’t last.
  25. I did color guard in high school! I would totally rock this detour!!
