Game advertising is notorious for not showing the actual game, @RedElf. In fact, there have even been lawsuits about it being deceptive. If you want to find out what a game is actually like before buying it you have to find player videos on Youtube, which are invariably awful. But at least you get to see a bit of the actual product. -
The aspect of the times the show was made that always bugs me is when Paul sees a good looking woman and stands dazed for several minutes all but drooling on his shoes.

I was watching on Freevee with ads. Maybe they shuffled them back to Paramount?

Why are my Comcast on demand choices suddenly reduced from most of the series to just part of season 5? RAGE

Say What?: Commercials That Made Us Scratch Our Heads

A dad is in a kitchen and he starts dancing, and a cookie on the counter starts dancing, and then the cookie notices a little girl has entered the room and the cookie freezes in... shock? Fear? Shame? But then the girl starts dancing, and the cookie, now reassured, resumes as well. What is the intended message? That cookies are extremely insecure and vulnerable to peer pressure? That they don't mind being eaten alive but can't bear to have their dancing judged harshly? -

"Mirror" and "common" seem most likely. https://strikeandcatch.com/types-of-carp/#:~:text=The most common types of,related to the common carp. -
I've been puzzled by odd little sounds while watching Perry and finally realized that they added a subtle sound effects track to the court room scenes. People shift in their seats, cough, clear their throats, and the like. But only in the court scenes. Odd.

Every night during Perry Mason I am told at least twice about some cooking show which is "putting the D in 'dinner'." I'm stuck somewhere between "huh?" and "ew." -
If you watch Perry on demand through Comcast, it's the full original run time. Finding the show to watch it is a pain, though. Their system would prefer it if you used the voice recognition and told it what you're looking for. But I will not do that. THEY'RE LISTENING, I TELL YOU!

The only place I have ever seen them is discarded on the ground. I figured out what they were from looking at them. I have never seen anyone ever use one. Weird, huh? -

Lately I have become obsessed with the 50s/60s series. I watch it every night before bed and think about it while I'm not watching it. The thing is, it's Perry himself that fascinates me. I find the plots overly complex and confusing, the acting uneven, and the final reveal is always so formulaic. But Perry glides through life with serene confidence. He is a respected professional and even the police who are his opponents are not his enemies and know he plays a valuable part in the same justice system that they do. Perry is always immaculately polite, even when arguing with the prosecutor in court. Raymond Burr has a nice voice and good diction, and he's pleasant to listen to. Perry is intelligent and well-spoken with a strong vocabulary. He says precisely what he means to say, and no more and no less. His meaning is always clear. Perry does not hurry, is rarely surprised, and never dismayed. He doesn't throw money around but he clearly does not worry about making rent or paying medical bills. His suits are always tidy and he drives a new-ish car. Unlike modern tv characters, Perry is not feuding with an ex-wife nor does he have a substance abuse problem. He's self-employed so his boss is not nagging him or making unreasonable demands. The one time we see him outside of work (at least in the episodes I've seen so far) he spends his free time quietly at home, reading a book on the couch. Perry always knows what to do and is confident that he can do it. In short, I envy Perry's relaxed mastery over his sedate life and find the show soothing to watch. I want Perry Mason's life.

Maybe all the commercials are aimed at us fogeys because The Youths are off watching their streaming services. (With their frequent dropping of desired shows and all the stories I hear about billing issues. Blech. The punk kids are welcome to them.) -

SENIORS ARE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR LIFE INSURANCE! Every damn break during Perry Mason. SENIORS ARE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR LIFE INSURANCE! Every damn break during Frasier and Cheers. SENIORS ARE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR LIFE INSURANCE! during Twilight Zone. SHUT UP ABOUT THE GODDAM SENIORS ALREADY! What the hell do I care how much they're paying for insurance? (As you can tell by my programming preferences, I am also a senior.) -

I keep seeing promos for a movie from "executive producer Tim Tebow." Because when I want quality cinematic entertainment, I always turn to homeschooled ex-quarterbacks with degrees in "family youth and community science." -

"I got a lot of advice about my abdominal pain, diarrhea, and constipation." Did you, now? "A lot." Really? Is this a common topic of conversation for you? How does this subject come up so often? "You want fries with that?" "No thanks, but what are your suggestions for runny stools?" -

I don't understand blaming the spokespersons for the commercials they're in. If the companies offered me as much money as they pay those people, hell yes I'd be on your screens extolling the wonders of Whoosh Laxative and explaining how sugary soft drinks make me a better athlete. Especially if I was one of those quasi-celebs whose last paying gig was 7 Presidents ago. Now HATING the spokesperson is a whole other and entirely legitimate thing. I've always violently despised JJ Walker, but if he can pay his bills now, more power to him. I sure wouldn't buy anything on his recommendation, though. Anyway, that's why I watch tv with the remote control in my hand. -

I don't usually watch weeknight tv but I'm feeling poorly lately and so thought I'd see what was on as long as I don't feel up to anything more challenging. Magnum PI? Hawaii 5-0? Nancy Drew? Whose Line is it Anyway? What the hell year is this? Yet none of them the originals. -

"Merry Christmas! Elephants are going extinct! Pets are being abused and neglected! Children are starving in Niger! Be of good cheer!" I only had the tv on for 45 minutes, for pity's sake. Can you please let me get through my lunch without crying? -

Ancient Rome-ish setting. Two women are sword fighting, for some reason. In flowing robes that could snag on things, for some reason. One winces in pain so the other stops fighting and offers her some arthritis cream, instead of pressing the advantage, for some reason. The other applies the stuff, is healed or whatever, and they resume fighting. That's the whole thing. Zero context or attempt at a narrative. Xena, Topical Analgesic Distributer?
