Has anyone found a podcast with knowledgeable hosts that you like? I listened to one a couple of weeks ago. But they weren’t the sharpest tools in the shed. For example, they kept confusing Joanne Carson with Joanne Woodward!
  2. Christopher Cerf was also a guest and is still living. His father was Random House founder Bennett Cerf. He is also an accomplished producer and author in his own right. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_and_White_Ball
  3. That’s what I kind of thought. When I was growing up in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s “queer” was a slur/insult. It’s been a little hard to used to people wanting to call themselves that.
  4. I agree. I also even wondered about the use of the word “gay”. Was that a commonly used word for homosexual in the mid-60’s? Or did it still mean happy to most people?
  5. I am trying to watch The Daughters Of The Cult. But it’s difficult to keep up with who is who. But I do want to rewatch Big Love!
  6. Thank you! I started watching. It’s very interesting. It makes me feel even more strongly about my original statement. The real people and events are interesting enough to draw upon. It wasn’t necessary to invent characters like Alice.
  7. I have no interest in the character of Alice. She is an entirely fictional character mixed up with a bunch of people who really existed. I felt similarly, but in reverse with Lenny Bruce in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I understand the need for sometimes there to be minor composite characters to advance the story. But Alice is a major character for apparently no reason. I am much more interested in how things went, although obviously fictionalized for actual people and real events!
  8. I had them in the ‘80’s too. In fact my doctor when I was in my late teens asked if I had them. 🙄
  9. Thank you, It seemed to me they were jumping a bit though out the decade with references.
  10. I’m lost! What year is this supposed to be?
