  1. Re Candiace’s nose - have you noticed her mom’s schnozz? Almost the same (but maybe they got the mother-daughter discount…)
  2. Welcome to Miami, where the rats are bigger than the condos - or so it seemed tonight. Bali’s parents’ “house” and Amrit and fiancé’s new digs felt claustrophobic thru my screen. This is how the Indian upper crust live in Florida? Garage - oops - estate sales? But the food is always good, at least.
  3. Not only did Candace handle the muppet perfectly, she looked gorgeous doing it, in the yellow dress and classically styled, auburn hair. Now just get mom outa the house and you’re golden!
  4. Ugh - enjoy Ana but hate the seemingly endless birthday celebrations for panelists. Just not interesting. Can’t they do the normal thing - wish the celebrant a happy day and then move on? RIP, BW. 93!! Another over-achievement for BabaWawa, an important figure in tele-celeb-“journalism.” She will be missed by many.
  5. Not a Jess fan. Tired of her nerves, short temper, & calling other women “chicks.”
  6. And my winner is Heather, def slimmer, but still has a more difficult (NORMAL!) bod to style. Looks like her eye situation is resolved, too - now she should focus on personality (and prob parenting, after the San Diego scenes.)
  7. Ha, nobody’s here, apparently! But anyway, I want to edit my 12/12/22 post & can’t find the edit icon. I wrote my last entry above after watching only the first half of Branson, Ep. 2, which described his dreadful upbringing. Today I resumed ep. 2, which is, in fact, mostly about Richard’s daredevil balloon flight over the Atlantic, but also includes his praise for his (IMO, destructive and near criminal, especially Mum) parents. Proves yet again that most never stop seeking parental approval. Therapy needed!
  8. And all 3 of her kids had dyslexia, many years ago when learning disabilities weren’t well understood. Apparently the parents also had this handicap to some degree, and were intimidated by academia. The response to his learning prob at “poor Richard’s” English boarding school was to beat him for his unsatisfactory school work. At age 7, per Richard, an older youth at school regularly forced him into his bed; Rich reported that to his father, hoping for support, and dear old dad simply said, don’t do that too much. Then along comes Mum with her abs rubbish of shyness or fear equals selfishness, so get up and f’g well entertain! No f’g wonder this poor guy is a bit off, and seemingly an endless risktaker. Although he made a mint, my heart hurts for that small boy; and I was furious after watching the 2nd episode.
  9. With all the unusually close and long lasting parenting portrayed in this show, why wouldn’t Vishal’s relatives have addressed his heavy drinking much earlier in his life, since it adversely affects Crohn’s Disease? Story line? And why would Richa, a pretty attorney, spend 10 years courting the immature, insecure, unsexy, works for mommy Vishal? They’re very unevenly matched, imo, and I don’t blame her for her constant irritation with him. Just wonder what kept her in thrall for a decade. Surely there were other men interested in her?
  10. Lordy, talk about damning with faint praise! Personally, I didn’t like her hair swept way up off her impressive forehead - she looks better with a fringe/softness framing her face. Her reactions to Alexandra Pelosi seemed overly animated to me - flashing a huge, toothy grin at the audience while applauding madly at the end of the first part of the interview looked a bit fake to me. Seems we now have Laughing Lady instead of Frownie Frau on the panel (def an improvement, I admit.) Sunny interrupted almost everyone today. Her view, that oppression and/or suffering cannot be compared, is valid, but even Oprah has said that she’s been rich and she’s been poor - and rich is better! I was also quite surprised that our Reader took time away from literature to watch some teevee - possibly she only views shows that have a racially diverse cast? Kudos to her, if so, and she should expound upon it.
  11. When a show/film is continually promoted, sad to say, it often disappoints - I was eager to see "Knives Out," but found it fairly mediocre; so am slightly doubtful re its successor. OTOH, Janelle Monae was an interesting guest & certainly made a dramatic entrance! Recently I took a few items to sell at a vintage clothing store. NOW I understand why they bought several of my late spouse's sport coats - too bad my beret supply is negligible. And you know you're getting on sans actually getting it on, when Santa looks sorta sexy to you!
  12. Yikes and yuck. Strip down and hop into bed with the host, mere hours post first meeting? No sofa/large chair/bench/mat on the floor/hotel available in Ireland/Paris? OK then. And surely the Ugly American pushy bitch in Dubai was acting on producer’s orders at the party? Can only hope ND optometrist (NOT an “eye doctor “) was also following orders when seeming to confuse Italy and France. Yeah, American college grads are completely ignorant of basic info re Western Europe - but then, that WOULD help explain ND’s choices over the last six years. Couple in Ghana may or may not be well matched but it was refreshing to see a curvaceous female body so proudly presented (and appreciated by her swain.)
  13. IMO, Joy’s bringing up how her father compared her looks unfavorably to another girl’s, reveals the limits of therapy; that “kidding” remark still seemed to sting after 70+ years, dad’s death - and tons of therapy. And (although Joy is my fav panelist), it wasn’t the exactly the worst experience to see Ms “comedians are different from the ordinary Jane, and allowed to poke often cruel fun at the foibles and features of others, sans rebuke” hoist with her own petard. But pls don’t leave us, Joy! Love it when Whoops is off hawking her wares and Joy is the moderator.
  14. Ads ad nauseam, after the initial spirited discussion re how slowly, lackadaisically and incompetently the US has reacted to the danger of losing our democracy, especially compared to the swift action in Peru and Germany, But we DID get to hear Whoopi expound on her school larnin’ (all 8?? years or so of it!) And then we discovered, to nobody’s surprise, that Sunny hadn’t partaken in the wonders of therapy, despite having had “such a hard life” per her pa. (Hmm…she was an apparently beloved only child, Mom was a teacher (despite residency in public housing), pretty Asunción went to private school, played basketball, won scholarships, had a college term abroad, attended Notre Dame law school, has many friends, married a surgeon, and has healthy, high-achieving, attractive kids - get thee to a head doc asap!) I know it’s beneficial in many cases, but as Sunny did note, therapy is not an option for many average Americans, whether due to finances, lack of time or unavailability of services. So, great for Adele, Joy, Sara, Alyssa and apparently most drama majors! Don’t most insurance plans only cover group therapy; if so, pretty unhelpful IMO - do you really wanna spill your guts before a bunch of strangers?
  15. Loved the pics of my favorite Republican gazing adoringly at Biden! And Sunny & Jr at the White House - what wonderful memories for her son. Sunny looked fab today in her red maxi dress, barely tired at all, apparently.
