  1. Yup, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the true heir of the Iron Throne never makes a move for it, or even realizes that he IS the heir. That would definitely go against the grain of typical fantasy storytelling.
  2. Not sure if it's been mentioned here yet, but I really want to see a Robert Strong/Zombie Gregor Clegane vs. Drogon fight. I see it playing out like this: Gregor Clegane: Rawrrrr *waves sword at Dany + friends* Drogon: flies in from behind, crushes Gregor, roasts and eats him. The end.
  3. This episode was everything. I need a cigarette, cause that was oh so satisfying. Only thing missing was Jaime killing cersei
  4. So, finally we get the Tower of Joy scene. I dunno if it played it scene for scene, shot for shot like in the book (can't remember now), but the important dialogue was there, and I was on the edge of my seat as soon as the first shot of 5 riders approaching 2 towers showed up. I knew instantly what it was. I have a feeling that the Rickon angle with Umber is a ruse. The wolf head isn't the dire wolf. I feel like Ramsay is getting played. After all, The North Remembers.
  5. The only way he survive is if rubber bullets were used and the attacker is toying with him. A kevlar vest stopping 2 shotgun blasts at close-range is nearly comical in likelihood. Not only that, but even if he did have a magical vest, it's not like the attacker would be like "oh s***!! A vest?! I did not expect this! Peace out!!" I don't believe he's dead yet...there was no blood, and they didn't show the gun shot wound either, after the first shot. They just zoomed in on his upper body and face (where, you could clearly see he wasn't wearing a vest, and he looked like he had the wind knocked out of him). And no blood spatter after the second shot either, so I'm holding out hope.
  6. Well yea, but here's why I asked the question: this is the book reader thread, we knew it was coming, there's strong evidence that he isn't dead dead...but people are still having a meltdown about it as if he is dead. I understand if this was the "No Book talk" thread...but come on...book readers should know better.
  7. Castle Black, King's Landing, Dorne, The Twins, Winterfell and The Dreadfort...everywhere. She has to kill Baelish first, to take his teleporter (since he obviously has one) and go nuts afterwards.
  8. Why are people in here having a meltdown about Jon Snow actually being dead?
  9. or Icefire :p Nevertheless, I think that even though I fell in love with this series because it went against the grain of regular fantasy, I'd actually prefer if the ending followed *some* common tropes (eg. Jon Snow saves the world, etc etc) And Arya going on a 30 minute killing spree montage, backed up by some epic music...a'la Tarantino
  10. He wouldn't get the Targaryen name unless Rhaegar legitimized him prior to his death. Just to add more complexity to the situation lol
  11. I see what you're saying...however, in this particular situation, I don't think the books will be much help. A lot of story lines are left hanging by the end of a book, some don't return for entire books, and as far as some season 5 cliff hangers go...well let's just say that us "Bookwalkers" have been waiting for 4-5 years now for some answers :-/ Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying people shouldn't read the books. Quite the opposite. I would highly recommend the books to all of the Unsullied because you guys will appreciate the depth in them (which the show has lost over the years). But I wouldn't put all my hopes into the books having the answers everyone craves at the moment. To me this all seems like a knee-jerk reaction to a shitty ending. Regardless though: everyone should do what the want to, and if a re-read thread is started I'll probably join in on the re-read, but mostly stay away from commenting, for obvious reasons
  12. I would like to second this post. Your posts have often been more entertaining and thought-provoking than A Show itself (especially this season...yeeesh!). But if I may ask: what is motivating everyone to suddenly go for the books after so many years of staying Unsullied? Was season 5 that bad?? LOL
  13. Anything is possible lol...but this is the point where you will not get an answer from Book Readers because we've been waiting for roughly 5 years now for an answer as to what happens to Jon, but to be honest, I think a majority of us believes he's not dead. I won't get into book reasons for why he is going to survive (unless you want to hear those too), but just going from what the show gave us: Melisandra knows it's possible to resurrect people thanks to her encounter with Thoros of Myr and the Brotherhood Without Banners in Season 3. That was a deviation from the books. Second: Look at Mel's face when she learns that Stannis's men have abandoned him is like "oh shiiiiit! I effed up"...I think in the show, that's when she realizes that Jon is the "Chosen One"...not Stannis. So she conveniently comes back to Castle Black in the very same episode that Jon Snow is murdered. Coincidence? I think not.
  14. I sincerely hope they don't go in the classic stereotypical direction by having Selyse suddenly resent Stannis and blame him for everything, although, the way Selyse as a character has been set up I am kind of expecting that. Even though the crazy B wanted it that way.
  15. omg that was so stupid. They built it up like a major mission, they travel from the Iron Islands all the way to the Dreadfort, and then they p***y out cause of a guy in pajamas and some dogs. Such a waste of time (in the show's universe, and from a production stand point). When they got back, I can imagine this conversation taking place: Asha/Yara: "Dad! I tried to save him. Your only living son! He was meters away from me...but...then they released the hounds! And we had to evacuate!"
