The last of the three little girls who walked across Australia to get back to their families, Daisy Kadibil, has died at the age of 95.
Her story was the basis for the movie Rabbit-proof Fence. If you have not seen it, I highly recommend it! The DVD extras were also very moving.

Robert De Cormier has died. I was lucky enough to sing under his direction a few times at The New York Choral Society's summer sings, but regret missing out on actually rehearsing and performing with him.
